Manani remains Queen of Limpopo
The name on everyone's lips is
Manani Fuwele, a local model with
national prospects and international
aspirations.
Manani recently took part in the
final round of the Miss Summer Heat
2011 at Wild Coast Sun in Port Edward,
and although she didn't finish
in the top three, she remains the
Queen of Limpopo and will continue
with her charity work she has come
to love so much.
Manani was one of nine finalists
chosen from around the country to
take part in this glamorous pageant.
She had the privilege of wearing an
evening gown and swimwear designed
by Kevin Ellis, who has designed
outfits for the J&B Met, and
enjoyed the entertainment provided
by two of last year's top 14 SA
Idols.
The experience was very exciting
and a great privilege, says Manani.
She says she has learned a lot, including
that although the title holders
might get the crown, the true winners
are the ones who make friends. This
corresponds with her view that life is
not all about the big things but the
small things that can change one's
life.
Manani wishes to become a fulltime
model and has her sights set on
many more pageants this year, the
next being the Miss Continent de'
Afrique in May.
Manani is a dedicated and motivated
young lady who lives by several
mottos, one of them being to
always remain positive. She feels that
with great power comes great responsibility
- a great motto for
someone who is bound to represent
Tzaneen and the country on many
more occasions.
Watch out for Tzaneen local Manani Fuwele who
recently took part in the final round of the Miss
Summer Heat 2011 at Wild Coast Sun in Port Edward
and is planning on a fulltime modeling career.
The Music Society of Nigeria, the Limpopo Youth Orchestra and the Mopani District Youth
Orchestra enjoying making music together during the launch of the Mopani District Youth
Orchestra held on March 11.
Nigeria, Limpopo launch Mopani project
Music and more music had the audience’s
feet tapping on March 11 with the launch of the
Limpopo Youth Orchestra’s Mopani District
Youth Orchestra project.
The Limpopo Youth Orchestra, the brain
child of Simone Aronje six years ago, is aimed
at changing the lives of the disadvantaged
children in our communities. Learners are
selected from schools in village areas and
offered free training and equipment.
The Limpopo Youth Orchestra consists of
wood, wind and brass instruments. It is made
up of 45 children from disadvantaged homes
and has already attained national and international
status, receiving many awards in
music.
The orchestra is open to all disadvantaged
children and aims at bringing them more
alongside advantaged children. There are also,
presently, 10 physically challenged children
participating in the orchestra. The dream is
big.
On the evening of March 11 there were 22
primary school children, from The King's
Court, Pfunenani and Maupa school in
Mokgoba village, playing recorders alongside
MUSON, the Music Society of Nigeria that
came out from Nigeria especially to spend the
next few months with these children.
The children have only been playing for
three months and were able to feel completely
at home with these professional musicians.
The learners will now progress onto violins
since their progress has been so marked.
The launch of the project is just the start of
the symphonic music drive throughout the
province. This has been a dream come true for
Simone Aronje, who has put her life into these
projects.
The Limpopo Youth Orchestra website, if
you want more information on their outstanding
work, is www.lyo.co.za.
MUSON will be performing live at The
King's Court in a few weeks. These musicians
had seen pictures of the work being done for
the Maupa school and contacted Simone
Aronje, asking how they could help make
these children's dreams come true.
They will be spending two months in the
country training these children in music. The
funds raised at The King's Court performance
will go towards their expenses.
Only 200 tickets will be available, sold at
R50 each. The date for the performance is
April 16 at 19:00. Please contact the school on
015 309 9792 for more information or to book
your seat. Any other cash donations would be
gladly accepted.
Learners from The King’s Court, Pfunenani
Nigeria especially to spend the next few
months with these children. Learners from the
