“Studying international relations
in a city with the headquarters
of the UN, OPEC and OSCE at a
time-honoured institution deeply
intertwined with a Ministry of
Foreign Affairs is a rare opportunity.
In addition to being located
at one of the top-addresses in the
international community, the DA
offers modern, up-to-date study
programmes, career advice and a
strong network in central Europe.
Its students form a supportive
community, creating friendships
that last a lifetime. Dedicated people
who want to go on work for
governments and international organisations
find themselves at the
right place, at the right time when
studying at the DA.”
Christoph Kunz, Austria,
Graduate 2012, Bundesministerium
für Arbeit, Soziales und
Konsumentenschutz
To help students prepare individually for
job interviews, the DA offers skills training
on communication, presentation
and negotiation techniques, simulations
of job interviews and assessment centres,
and how to prepare CVs in English,
French and German. The quality of DA
students’ applications in comparison
to others often makes the decisive
difference.
Students are regularly informed of current
employment vacancies, entrance
examinations and internships in international
organisations, the EU, the private
sector and elsewhere. In addition, a mentoring
programme has been established
to help new graduates to obtain valuable
advice on job hunting in their favoured
career choice from professionally successful
alumni.
