It whirled over the suburbs, until suddenly, as if<br />
there were an established boundary line, fertile green<br />
replaced dull grey.<br />
Dan and Diana watched through the distorting convex<br />
window as the shadow of their craft passed over: checker<br />
board farm fields, half-groomed forests, and small white<br />
towns set among the rolling hills.<br />
They were moving west, out of New York, over New<br />
Jersey, to the Quaker State, Pennsylvania, Penn's Wood - the<br />
Keystone State because it is the center of the arch of the<br />
thirteen original colonies - the state first in pig iron and.<br />
steel production, whose bird is the ruffed grouse, whose<br />
tree is the hemlock, and whose motto is "VIRTUE, LIBERTY,<br />
AND INDEPENDENCE."<br />
The pilot, earphones over his blue baseball cap, now<br />
and then examining the chart pinned in front of his eyes,<br />
calculatingly guided the helicopter towards the Allegheny<br />
Mountain Range, a lesser known section of the famous<br />
Appalachian Mountain Range which runs north to south through<br />
the center of the state.<br />
Dan and Diana's hearts began to throb with the beat of<br />
the thrashing rotor blades as the helicopter flew over high<br />
mountains and low valleys, to a remote valley, where a small<br />
log cabin stood next to a field, and a pond •<br />
•••• CHOP - CHOP - CHOP - CHOP - CHOP •••• The chopper<br />
hovered over the field of tall wavy grass.<br />
