• Newel FFA Resolution: (refer to handout) Mr. Ollila summed up that one resolution
simply asks that the South Dakota FFA remain neutral on the issue of animal
identification system. Mrs. Lisa Hendrickson commented that there are also issues with
animal ID within her chapter . Mr. Ollila commented that we should be ahead of the
game and not having the state fair force students to be a part of this program; this is
premises registration to be put on the agenda for the SD State convention in
April for discussion and voting before the delegate body. The Executive
Committee took no affirmative action on these resolutions. The Committee
feels that this issue is important enough to warrant discussion by the delegate
ody; however since the Executive Committee did not vote to enact either
resolution as a policy, any action taken to accept the resolutions by the
delegates must be ratified at the next Executive Committee meeting (Summer
2008).
