PRODUCT WITHDRAWAL AND RECALL: Emporium Selection Brie and Camembert (Product
36530) cheeses that are supplied by Jindi and sold under the Emporium Selection brand.
In the interests of shopper safety, ALDI Australia is withdrawing from sale, its Emporium
Selection Brie and Camembert (Product 36530) cheeses that are supplied by Jindi and sold
under the Emporium Selection brand with a use by date up to and including 8 March, 2013. This
decision is a precautionary measure taken by ALDI Australia following the Jindi cheese
company voluntarily recalling its cheeses after reports of listeria infections that are currently
under investigation.
ALDI Australia puts its customers' safety first and this withdrawal has been issued as a
precautionary measure due to a possible contamination, and these products will remain off
the shelves until further investigation by the ACCC has been completed.
Our suppliers have a responsibility to meet stringent product specifications for quality and
ALDI Australia undertakes regular testing to ensure all of our goods continue to meet statutory
requirements regarding Food Safety as a minimum.
Continuously reviewing our product ranges ensures International and Australian Best Practice,
including all local requirements; and we will continue to remove any product from sale if it is
identified as not meeting our strict standards and we encourage our customers to return the
cheeses as soon as possible to their nearest store for a full refund.
