Château Margaux owes its unique qualities to the genius of its terroir and the passionate labour of a succession of
generations. its greatness is thanks to a combination of characteristics that are almost never found in just one wine:
finesse, elegance, complexity, density, depth, length and freshness.
in this demonstration, riedel will
show you how wines can benefit
from being decanted by comparing
wines that have been decanted
for a period of time and the same
wine poured straight from the
bottle. riedel believes that all wines
should be decanted: young, old, red
or white – even champagne can
benefit from decanting.
TAke THe TeST
There are two main reasons to decant:
• To help remove any sediment that has built up in the wine
• To aerate the wine and open up its structure so that its complexity and characteristics are shown to
the fullest.
The elegant and artistic designs will grace any dining table, while functioning in ways that will help benefit
the wines within them.
The following wines will be used in the Riedel test:
