This subseries includes manuals and guides <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>pics such as quality, affirmative<br />

acti<strong>on</strong>, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> envir<strong>on</strong>ment, safety, compensati<strong>on</strong>, incentives, budgeting and general<br />

company policies. These files were originally interfiled with <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> subseries<br />

Planning. With no order across or within subjects, policy and procedure records<br />

were separated from planning records, and an arrangement was imposed. This<br />

subseries is arranged alphabetically by subject.<br />

Planning 1978-1993<br />

This subseries includes documents that were used for decisi<strong>on</strong> making and<br />

planning purposes as well as documents that mapped plans for <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> company.<br />

Included are business plans, quality improvement plans, Human Resources and<br />

Administrati<strong>on</strong> successi<strong>on</strong> plans for managers, which included performance<br />

reviews, Human Resources and Administrati<strong>on</strong> compensati<strong>on</strong> his<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>ries and<br />

projecti<strong>on</strong>s, and a small amount of senior manager meeting minutes. These files<br />

were originally interfiled with <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> subseries Policy and Procedure. With no order<br />

across or within subjects, planning records were separated form policy and<br />

procedure records, and an arrangement was imposed. This subseries is<br />

arranged alphabetically by subject.<br />

Workshops and training 1978-1996<br />

This subseries primarily c<strong>on</strong>sists of material that <str<strong>on</strong>g>Liddie</str<strong>on</strong>g> received as an attendee,<br />

or presenter at workshops and professi<strong>on</strong>al development trainings. Most of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

workshops and trainings were offered by <strong>Signetics</strong> or Philips. Topics include<br />

quality, managing change, and safety. Catalogs listing employee training courses<br />

offered are also included. This subseries had no discernible original order. This<br />

subseries is arranged alphabetically by title.<br />

This series c<strong>on</strong>tains material printed by <strong>Signetics</strong> and Philips. This series is arranged in<br />

Newsletters 1964-2000<br />

This subseries primarily c<strong>on</strong>tains <strong>Signetics</strong> employee newsletters. Of special<br />

note is a very nearly complete run of Probe, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>Signetics</strong> employee newsletter,<br />

dating from 1964 through 1992. After <strong>Signetics</strong> was acquired by Philips Probe<br />

was folded in<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Philips employee newsletter, P.S. There is a small amount of<br />

Philips employee newsletters dated prior <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> 1993. Especially unique items are<br />

plant specific employee newsletters, such as Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Wafer<br />

Paper and Provo, Utah’s Spec Sheet, as well as newsletters published by<br />

individual departments within <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> company. The run of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>se newsletters is small<br />

and inc<strong>on</strong>sistent. Also of note are a very small number of employee newsletters<br />

from <strong>Signetics</strong>’ internati<strong>on</strong>al plants in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Philippines, Korea and Thailand.<br />
