Gretchen Borck, Spokane, WA,
is U.S. Senator Slade Gorton's
"trouble shooter" in Eastern
Washington, traveling the state
listening and responding to
constituents' concerns. She's
eager to start an alumni
chapter in Spokane.
Sheila Dinwiddle, Norfolk, VA,
received her M.A. in alcohol &
drug rehabilitation from
Virginia Commonwealth
University in 1990. She has 14
grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren!
Roger Goldingay, Malibu, CA,
and his wife Carol Otis, MD
are co-authors of the Campus
Health Guide. They recently
hosted the Alumni Association
gathering at Paradise Cove.

Nanci Watson, Riverside, CA, is Total Quality Facilitator for the
Toro Company and has 4 great kids.
Ken Zaller, Sacramento, CA, teaches English at Dixon High
School.
Gregory Lee Jones, Portland, OR, is employed at National
Accounts.
Class of 1975
Bill Tomlinson, Portland, OR, announces the birth of his
daughter, Anna Baldwin on June 24, 1991.
Gregory Booth, Alexandria, VA, recently returned from
Cameroon and Guinea, where he worked for the U.S. State
Department.
Susan Slate, Lacey, WA, is a hypnotherapist, has her own cable
TV talk show, and is a member of the Evergreen Alumni Board.
Tim Girvin, Seattle, WA, owner of Tim Girvin Design, Inc., has
clients beating a path to his door. His offices are located in a loft
above Nordstroms Rack, and his 22 employees are excited over
their newest client—Estee Lauder. Girvin recently created an
image for Lauder's new fragrance, Spellbound. Some other
clients include American Express, Banana Republic, General
Mills, Time Magazine, and United Airlines. Girvin is involved in
some pretty "heady" projects such as "Dances with Wolves" and
"Robin Hood."
Brenda Johnson, Davis, CA, is employed at Biosystems, Inc. and
is working on her Ph.D. at the University of California at Davis.
Barbara Kendziorek, Friday Harbor, WA, works for Housing
and Urban Development and had a son named Aaron in
January, 1990.
Patricia Sparks-Cauchy, Traverse City, MI, is an admissions
counselor at Phoenix Hall.
Jonathan Stephens, Silver Springs, MD, works for Senator Bob
Packwood and has a baby girl named Nora Wesely.

Edward M'Quarrie, Santa Clara, CA, married Mary Elizabeth
Aust in December, 1990.
Mabel Atkins, Seattle,WA, teaches in the Seattle public school
system and recenty became a grandmother!
Karen (Goldman) Smith, Freemont, CA, married Craig Smith in
November, 1990. She's been working as a technical writer for
IBM since 1986.
Margaret Goodward, Grand Terrace, CA, is an art therapist.
Sharon Smith, Olympia, WA, is a counselor in Evergreen's
Counseling Center, has her own private practice, and is a
member of the Evergreen Alumni Board.
Barbara Ramsey, Berkeley, CA, is a physician with the Native
American Health Center.
Ron Smoire, Culver City, CA, is the caterer and chef who treated
fellow Greeners to delectible grilled corn at the Malibu alumni
gathering.

is a manager for Multimedia
Software.
Janet Stonington, Louisville,
CO, has been a Physician
Assistant in family practice in
Boulder for the past eight years.
She continues to climb mountains,
ski and play soccer.

Frankie Foster, Santa Monica,
CA, is heading up a new project
called Pre-Visualization for Tri-
Star/Columbia/Sony Studios.
Frank uses his expertise in computer
animation to allow movie
directors to visualize a scene without
taking the crew to the site.
Matt Groening, Los Angeles,
CA, creator of "The Simpsons,"
has been a man on the go lately.
He has done interviews for
national magazines, been on
"The Tonight Show," and is one
of Hollywood's hottest
commodities. More often than
not, Matt talks about his
Evergreen experience and gives
the school a lot of good P.R.

Linda Leigh, Oracle, AZ, is one
of eight people enclosed in the
Biosphere II. Linda and her team
will remain in the artificial Earth
for two years.
Bruce Honig, San Anselmo, CA,
is self-employed creating,

Marilyn Lupinacci, Mt. Vernon,
WA, works at the Department
of Social and Health Services.
Brad Pokorny, Peekskill, NY,
works for the Bah'ai International
Community at the United
Nations.
Barbara Turner, Big Sky, MT,
is opening Mooseracks Books,
a bookstore and coffeeshop between
Bozeman andYellowstone.
Anne Turner, Vancouver, WA,
is manager of the Vancouver
Volunteer Bureau. She leads a
discussion group at Clark
College called "I Can Do
That," showing people how
they can enrich their lives
through volunteering. Anne
and her husband Bud
celebrated their 25th
anniversary in May. Congratulations,
Anne and Bud!
Steve Creager, San Francisco,
CA, is a corporate lawyer with
Sherman & Sterling.
John McLaughlin, Telluride,
CO, is a freelance illustrator.
He will be climbing in the
Anna-purna Range in Nepal
this fall.
Pamela Bowe, Seattle, WA,
owns PT Bowe Co. in Seattle.

Nancy Luenn, Olympia, WA,
makes her living writing
children's books.
Stephen Rabow, Sarasota, FL,
is writing a guide book on
Florida's Sun Coast. He
recently won a Florida
"Emmy" award and a national
"IRIS" award for his television
work.
Suzanne Mulligan Ryan,
Portland, OR, runs a business
recruiting medical professionals
for hospitals in Hawaii.
Sarah Stockwell, Cumberland
Center, ME, and Robert
Crawford, '77, have two
children, three-year-old Dana
and eight-month-old Myls.
Sarah is a wildlife biologist
with the Audobon Society;
Robert is an attorney for
Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer and
Nelson.
Marta Woodhull, Los Angeles,
CA, is a professional singer,
songwriter, author, and vocal
instructor in Hollywood.
Gloria Ramberg, Vancouver,
WA, is a counselor heading a
discussion group at Clark
College entitled "Benefits and
Boundaries of Touch." After
graduating from Evergreen's
Vancouver campus, Gloria
received her M.S.W. from
Portland State College.
Michael Mehaffy lives in Seaside, OR, with his wife and three
children. Michael completed his graduate work in architecture at
the University of California-Berkeley and is designing and
building environmentally sensitive houses under the "master
building" approach.
Andrea Varcalli, Casper, WY, is an eighth-grade science teacher
for Natrona County.
Margaret Birnbaum lives in Sunnyvale, CA, with her husband
and two-year-old daughter Jessica. She is an Information
Services Manager for Hewlett Packard in Mountain View.

Lynda Barry, Chicago, IL, has met with great success of late.
Her cartoon strips and her book-now-play-soon-to-be-movie
"The Good Times Are Killing Me," about a girl growing up in a
racially mixed neighborhood, have made Lynda a nationally
known figure. Keep it up, Lynda!
Jean-Pierre Bressieux, Boulder, CO, owns and operates
ECOPAK Products of Boulder, which produces environmentally
friendly products such as reusable lunch bags for kids and adults
and canvas grocery tote bags, all with graphic designs.
William Ferris, Seattle, WA, is an accountant for the University
of Washington School of Medicine.
Peter Rees Mullineaux, Boulder, CO, is employed at ALPEN.
Dean R. Elliott, San Pedro, CA, is an employee of Rockwell.
Joyce Baker, Bothell, WA, is a financial planner with The
Prudential and president of the Evergreen Alumni Board.
John Kane, Seattle, WA, works for Carlson/Ferrin, the architects
of Evergreen's Lab annex addition. Daughter Anria Weber-Kane
was born May 7, 1991.
Charles T. Moore, Snohomish, WA, is a member of Citizens for
Alternative Health Care, which worked with other groups in
passing landmark health care bills HB1960 and HB2071.
Class of 1980
Timothy Ball, Lacey, WA, is the owner of Solar Engineering
Services, one of the top firms in the country specializing in solarpowered
electrical systems for remote areas. He and his four
employees have developed a $1 million-per-year business that
has included the design and construction of water pumping
systems for 14 villages in the Sahara Desert, lighting systems for
isolated campgrounds throughout the U.S., and solar systems for
homes in the Rainier-Yelm area where electricity was not
available.
Janice King, Bellevue, WA, is a self-employed technical writer
and a member of the Evergreen Alumni Board.
John Beauchamp, Cambridge, MA, is an independent computer
consultant for Fortune 500 companies. He is applying to the
MIT school of computer sciences and hopes to be accepted as a
graduate student working in graphics.
Elizabeth Colwill, San Diego, CA, received her Ph.D. in history
from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Her
doctoral thesis, "Transforming Women's Empire: Representations
of Women in French Political Culture, 1770-1807," won
the Distinguished Dissertation Award in the Social Sciences
category. Betsy is currently an assistant professor of history at
San Diego State University.
Sherry Faulkner-Rose, San Jose, CA, is a Senior Placement
Counselor for Rolm Systems.
Neill Kramer, Rochester, NY,
is an adjunct professor at
Rochester Institute of
Technology, in the School of
Science, Technology, and
Society.
David Mazor, Amherst, MA, is
a filmmaker and president of
Northern Arts Entertainment
in Williamsburg.
Amy McFarlan, Greeley, CO,
owns a housekeeping service
and has two girls, ages one and

Country Music industry in
Nashville before moving to
Santa Barbara. She is currently
working on a novel.

Eric Longdon, Seattle, WA, is
employed by the Washington
State TDD Relay Service. He
also works as a math tutor at

College.

CA, is a bilingual teacher in

David Olson, Denver, CO,

received a master's degree in

of Washington in 1989 and
recently passed the architecture
licensing exams. He is employed

Charles T. Schick, Santa
Barbara, CA, is working toward
a Ph.D. in botany at the
University of Santa Barbara.

Nancy P. Butler, Portland, OR,
lives with Louise Richards, her
partner of six years, and their
15-month-old son, Leo Palmer
Richards. They are one of the
very few couples in the U.S.
who have successfully adopted a
child into the home of same-sex
parents. Nancy still works for
Eastman Kodak in Portland.
Robert Classen, Malaga, WA,
received his master's in clinical
psychology from Seattle
University. He's working for
Children's Welfare Services and
guest lecturing at Wenatchee
•;Valley College in psychotherapy.
His wife teaches speech
/and they have a son named Ben.
Denise MacNeil, Orange, CA, is
a writer who finished her M.A.
in literature this year.
Ralph Minor and wife, Mary,
were married on August 11,
1990. They are living in
Speicher, Germany and working
at Spangdahlem Air Base. Ralph
teaches eighth-grade earth
science and Mary is a school
nurse.

Prue Hathaway, Olympia, WA,
is a Legislative Research
Assistant for the Washington
State Legislature and a member
of the Evergreen Alumni Board.
Kinley Karlsen, Redwood City,
CA, was married April 21,
1990 to long-time friend Paul
Coney. She is co-founder and
president of the San Francisco
Environmental Law Foundation
and is on the board of the
Bay Area Biological Safety
Affairs Forum. She reports that
she and Paul are happy, healthy
and holy.
Sid Sidorowicz and his wife
Nancy Dombrowski live in
Olympia, WA. Sid is working
as Executive Policy Assistant
for the Washington Office of
Financial Management and is a
member of the Evergreen
Alumni Board. Nancy is Assistant
City Manager of
Olympia.
Letha Berg, Vancouver, WA, is
a member of the Board of Fort
Vancouver Regional Library
and serves as president of the
Friends of the Vancouver
Library and the East County
Democratic Women. Letha is
also the volunteer coordinator
for Vancouver Regional
Library's Reaching Out
Program, which helps provide
services to the homebound.
