Karen Denman, Rogue River,
OR, and partner Lorna Wolvin
are opening a bed and breakfast.
Karen is leaving behind a
thriving home services business
that has served Seattle for the
past five years and is looking
forward to the tranquility of
"Whispering Pines," a 33-acre
farm/bed and breakfast/retreat.
John Wood, Duluth, MN, is a
physician who has recently set
up a family practice in Duluth.
Karin Dedona, Vancouver,
WA, is an attorney and leads a
discussion group at Clark
College on "Women and the
Law." Karin is an Evergreen-
Vancouver alumna who
obtained her law degree from
Lewis and Clark College.

WA, is employment service
development specialist for the

Caroline McLean, Boulder,
CO, works in environment
education and aquatic biology
for the Colorado Division of

Russel Potter, Fairfield, ME,
completed his Ph.D. in English
at Brown University, and is
assistant professor of English
at Colby College in Waterville.
He and Karen Potter, '84, have
two boys, ages one and four.
Karen completed her M.A. at
the University of Rhode Island
and is working toward her
Ph.D. in English.
Bruce Ostermann, Worland,
WY, is a corrosion technician
for Marathon Pipe Line/USX.
He is chairperson for the BLM
Advisory Board and president
of his local Trout Unlimited
Chapter. In his spare time, he
continues to fish every chance
he gets! Bruce tips his hat to
Faculty Member Steve Herman
for the conservation
background he received at
Evergreen.
Jeffery Bruton, Seattle, WA,
has been accepted in the New
York University Music
Technology master's program.
Linda Wynne, Lacey, WA,
works for the Department of
Social and Health Services. She
married musician Charles
"CJ"Rawlings on March 17,
1991, in South Lake Tahoe.
Kathleen Krzastek, Canton,
GA, just started the master's/
Ph.D. program in mathematics
at Emory University's
Graduate School of Arts and
Sciences in Atlanta.

Ed Alverson, Eugene, OR, received his M.S. in botany from
Oregon State University in 1989. He is Land Steward for the
Nature Conservancy, working for the city of Eugene assisting in
development and implementation of a wetland conservation plan.
Per Even Tor Fjelstad is at Pensylvania State University working
toward a doctorate degree in Rhetorical Theory and Criticism.
Judith Cohen, Seattle, WA, is a prize-winning pianist who
performed at the 1991 Governor's Chamber Music Festival in
August. Judith and husband Stephen Brady founded the festival in
1989.
Sherri Gerson, Providence, RI, is a social worker for families of
children with AIDS.
Joan Gregory, Tacoma, WA, is the owner of Apex Systems in
Tacoma.
Andy Stewart, Olympia, WA, works as a shipwright and is a
member of the Evergreen Alumni Board.
Pam Harris, Denver, CO, married Brad Clemmons, a former
Evergreen Graphics staffer, this summer. She works as a family
education coordinator for the Adult Learning Source.
Tia Pennell, Olympia, WA, works for the Department of
Community Development and is on the Thurston County
Literacy Network Board.
Quentin King, Somerville, MA, is a computer programmer for
IDX Group-Boston.
Sally Navarre, Kipnuk, AK, is an English as a Second Language
teacher for students in grades K-8 in the Yupik Eskimo village of
Kipnuk.
Dolores Zschomler, Vancouver, WA, is Executive Director of
Neighbors In Deed, a volunteer organization dedicated to
providing essential services to those in need.
Shaina Masters, Tacoma, WA, trades horses to Taiwan.
Jimmy Mateson, Olympia, WA, is director of the Non-Profit
Resource Institute and a member of the Evergreen Alumni Board.
Kenneth John Basye, Providence, RI, is attending graduate school
at Brown in computer science.

Su Martens, Colville, WA, has a private practice with North East
Washington Family Counseling. She also works as a Family
Reconciliation Counselor for Child Protection Services.
Jill K. Robertson, Eugene, OR, completed her master's degree at
Marylhurst College in Portland and is a practicing art therapist in
Eugene.
Julie Crowman, Burlington, VT, announced her engagement to
David Fegan. A July 1992 wedding is planned. She is attending
grad school at the University of Vermont and her fiance is a
medical resident at the University of Maryland.
Joseph Haefeki, Greeley, CO, is assistant technical director of the
Union Colony Civic Center, and is a music engineer at the
University of Northern Colorado.
Gary Wessels-Galbreath, Olympia, WA, is a counselor in
Evergreen's First Peoples' Advising program and a member of the
Evergreen Alumni Board.

representative for the Simpson
Paper Company.
Terry Sell, Des Moines, WA, is
a night city editor of the Valley
Daily News in Kent. Terry is
working toward a Ph.D. in
political science at the
University of Washington.
Sue L. Sholin earned her J.D. in
June 1991 from the University
of Puget Sound School of Law.
Julia Margaret Becker,
Bozeman, MT, won an
honorable mention in the
Rochester International Film
Festival for an animated film.
She also won an Emerging
Artist Award in the Humboldt
International Film and Video
Festival.

Mary Knackstedt, Gig Harbor,
WA, is an environmental
educator with the Pierce
County School District. She is
involved with the Adopt-A-
Beach program, and last year
visited over 300 classrooms
encouraging schools to use
waste management practices
that children can incorporate
into their daily lives.
Carolyn Martin, Greeley, CO,
is an art teacher with the
Poudre School District.
Jon Martin, Olympia, WA,
owns Blue Zoo, a printing/
publishing company and is a
member of the Evergreen
Alumni Board.
Kai Schafft recently completed
an M.A. at the University of
Maine at Orono. Kai has
secured teaching positions at a
high school in Budapest and at
the Hungary University of
Economics.
Randy Weightman, Resede,
CA, is married to Leona Dan,
has a one-year-old daughter
named Anna Leigh, and works
for Property Master.
James Ascher, Olympia, WA,
earned his J.D. from the
University of Puget Sound
School of Law in June.
Danylla Lucienne Dimitroff, Bremerton, WA, married
Christopher Ray Dinwiddie September 22, 1990. Danylla keeps
her initials the same, but carries forth her new last name:
Dinwiddie.
Robin Healy, Olympia, WA, is self-employed in the landscape
and carpentry businesses and is a member of the Evergreen
Alumni Association.
Class of 1987
David Lee Campbell, Olympia, WA, entered the field naturalist
program at the University of Vermont in Burlington. After
graduating from Evergreen David worked for the Department of
Ecology for a year before being accepted into the Peace Corps
where he worked in tropical reforestation in the Philipines.
Christopher Burke, Boulder, CO, is a distributor of garden
products with Age Old Organics.
Jeannie Corr, Mill Valley, CA, and Tom Hill, '86, are the proud
parents of a baby girl, Claire Elizabeth Hill.
Dean and Elizabeth Duncan, Carbondale, IL, are both at the
Southern Illinois University where he is working toward a
Ph.D., and she is in law school.
Joshua Kairoff, Los Angeles, CA, is the Operations Manager of
Interactive Techniques.
Cheryl Culver, Olympia, WA, is the Public Information Officer
for the Washington State Energy Office and a member of the
Evergreen Alumni Board.
Thomas O'Brien, Wurtsboro, NY, is a correctional education
teacher working in a federal prison.
James Organ, Denver, CO, is employed by Netlink Corporation.
Lori Schwartz, Brattleboro, VT, is an advocate for the elderly
with the Council on Aging.
Roger R. Wong, Los Angeles, CA, is a self-employed motion
picture lighting technician.
Richard Hartley, Philadelphia, PA, is an administrative assistant
with J. B. Lippincott Company, a medical and nursing textbook
publishing company.
Loretta Vander Pol, Vancouver, WA, is Director of SafeChoice
for the YWCA of Clark County.

Jennifer Chapman Flynn and Mark J. Flynn, Valhalla, NY, are
both at New York Medical College. Jeannifer is a medical
secretary in the Office of Onocology and Mark is in his third
year of medical school.
Joseph Luders, Kirkland, WA, is pursuing a Ph.D. in Political
Science at the New School for Social Research in New York
City. His goal is to return to Evergreen as a faculty member.
Arturo Aldama, Berkeley, CA, is a teacher working toward a
Ph.D. in ethnic studies at the University of California at
Berkeley.
Mich'l Prentice, Olympia, WA, is employed by the Washington
State Senate. She married Clark Needham on December 29, 1990
whom she met during Clark's brother's wedding.
Mare Nemeth, Olympia, WA, is a freelance artist and a member
of Evergreen's Alumni Board.

Jane McCann, Olympia, WA,
is the business manager of
Interaction Research
Corporation in Tumwater
along with two other alums
(see '81 & '82). Last year the
company came out with an
800K clip art program that is
specific to Washington state
which includes skylines, sports,
lighthouses, and wildlife.
Franney McNamara Jardine
earned a J.D. from the
University of Puget Sound Law
School in June.
Mary Craven, Lacey, WA, is
the Student Activities Office
Coordinator at Evergreen and
a member of the Evergreen
Alumni Association.

teacher. She married her high
school friend, Tom Martin, on
May 31, 1991.

is a Legislative Assistant for the

graduated from the University
of Washington with a Master's
in Social Work and is a social

position, Mary Ellen had an
espresso franchise on the set

"Nowhere Man." She also
