For the informed user category, a national organiza­<br />

tion was contacted whose membership possesses the charac­<br />

teristics of the informed user category. A random selec­<br />

tion technique was used by the organization director to<br />

select 100 members from those residing in Arizona. Table<br />

III provides information on this respondent category.<br />

Interviews. The primary objective of the interviews<br />

was to complement the questionnaires. The lack of struc­<br />

turing in the interviews enabled a greater depth analysis,<br />

particularly for certain questions raised by the question­<br />

naire responses.<br />

A listing of all the banks and savings and loan<br />

associations in Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona, was prepared.<br />

A separate ranking for each category was prepared based on<br />

total assets at December 31, 1969. Based on the assumption<br />

that a relationship exists between asset size and the<br />

existence in the organization of professional users of
