Students will create all kinds of bright and
shiny paintings and objects using a variety
of sparkling and reflective materials. They’ll
learn about color and light while making
beautiful eye-catching art.
Ages 3-4 / Patricia Liverman
Storybook Lands Su13.12
We’ll read many stories and even make up
some stories of our own. Then we’ll make
paintings and collages with clay, fabric, buttons
and more, creating art about the characters
and places in our stories.
Ages 4-5 / Lindsay Kessner
Tree House Sculpture Su13.13
Build treehouse-inspired artworks using recycled
objects, wood, plaster and other materials.
Learn about artists who make incredible
tree houses, then design and create your own
hideaway.
Ages 5-6 / Steven Bankhead
Plaster Mania Su13.14
Students will explore new materials and basic
forms such as mountains, trees and animals.
By using a base for the objects, each sculpture
will be dipped and covered with plaster and
then painted.
Ages 6-8 / Melanie Moore
Sculptacular Su13.15
Students will use traditional sculpture materials
such as clay, plaster and wood to make a
series of abstract sculptural work. Students
will gain technical skills and practice selfexpression.
Ages 7-9 / Ashley Landrum
Ceramics Su13.16
Students will learn how to use the potter’s
wheel as well as some hand-building techniques
to create functional and nonfunctional
ceramic pieces. They’ll also explore various
methods of glazing, surface texture and alternatives
in firing. Each class offers new experiences
and projects so students may take this
class more than once.

We’ll explore paintings, pictures and stories
and the places they take us. Then using many
colors of paint, and many ways to paint, we
will create our own paintings to display at
home!
Ages 3-4 / Michelle Wiener
Fossil Hunters Su13.18
Combining the spirit and adventure of paleontology
with the fun of art making, students
will piece together some of the world’s greatest
mysteries. They’ll study dinosaur bones
and other fossils, make dinosaur footprints
and giant jaws filled with prehistoric teeth.

Rockets, Comets & the Milky Way Su13.19
Students will blast off into outer space in
rockets made from interesting materials.
They’ll paint comets that glow in the dark,
learn about stars and create mobiles of the
planets.
Ages 6-8 / Patricia Liverman
Pouring Paint Su13.20
Students will look at artwork by painters who
drip, pour and stain canvas. They’ll learn
about the process of mixing colors and diluting
paint while experimenting with techniques
of applying different types of paint to
canvas and paper.
Ages 7-9 / Steven Bankhead
Stop Motion Animation Su13.21
Students will be introduced to basic animation
concepts, using techniques of stop motion
animation. They’ll animate objects, sand,
clay and their own bodies to produce a stop
motion video.

kingdom, students will use many art materials
to create tails, paws, ears and other wearable
art objects.
