Fall Concert 2012 - OCPS Teacher Server

About the Freedom High School Guitar Program:
The Freedom High School Guitar Program has grown to become one of the
largest Performing Arts electives offered with over 190 students enrolled in
three Guitar I classes, and three performing ensembles that serve as our FHS
Guitar Ensembles. The program encompasses yearlong accredited classes
that meet one period every day during the school day. Students who
successfully complete a guitar class receive one credit and also fulfill the
Performing Arts elective required for graduation.
In January 2013 FHS Guitar Orchestra will be presenting concert
performance for the 2013 Florida Music Educators Association All-State
Music Conference in Tampa, FL. Also, in March 2013, the Guitar Orchestra
will travel to New York to perform in concert as part of the Long Island
Guitar Festival. Very few high school ensembles receive this honor and the
FHS Guitar Orchestra is very proud to performing in these national and
international events.
Working with the Freedom High School Guitar Ensemble, we have enjoyed
clinics from nationally renowned Central Florida Guitar Professors including
Dr. Stephen Robinson from Stetson University, Rex Willis from State
College of Florida, Dr. Eladio Scharrón from the University of Central
Florida, and Harris Becker from Long Island University.
