*Please note that if you use a GPS unit to find your way to camp, or get your directions from an internet website, do not follow Spring Creek Dr, or Reno Gulch Road. These routes are often impassable by vehicle. Instead continue on HWY 16 to Medicine Mountain Road and follow the signs! 6 Directions to MMSR
7 How to get ready for camp Read and share this Guidebook! Make your reservation and submit a non‐refundable $250 unit deposit. Share pertinent portions of this book with members of your troop so Scouts can start thinking about what goals they’d like to accomplish at camp. Recruit two or more adult leaders to attend camp with troop; share this book with them. (If you are having difficulty getting two leaders for camp, contact the MMSR office immediately!!) Create payment plan; organize fundraising activities. Make a non‐refundable deposit of $100 per person (due January 31st). Hold parent information meetings. Arrange for transportation to camp. Hold troop leader meeting to determine troop and patrol schedule at summer camp. Gather troop equipment. Submit full payment by March 31st to qualify for the discounted rate. If fees are not paid in full by March 31st, a $25 late fee will be added to all registered participants. Submit a troop roster by March 1st by using our the MMSR BadgeTracker web site File a tour plan with your local council office. Collect medical forms from every Scout and adult. (Current within the last 12 months of your last day of camp). Assign one parent to be in charge of emergency communication; he or she must have the camp phone number, and a copy of the roster and tour plan. Review and form a list of which merit badges will be taken at camp, and go to the Badgetracker web site to sign up Conduct a pack check for Scouts; make sure they have everything they need and nothing they don’t or shouldn’t have Load up and plan to be at camp on time. Gates open on Sunday at 1:00pm!
