As senior pupils in
East Renfrewshire
Schools, you will be
looking towards the
future and thinking of life
beyond schooluniversity,
college, a
career. Our Vocational
Programme provides
you with the opportunity
to focus in on that
choice by participating
in a related course or to widen your horizons by trying
something completely different. Either way this is a real
chance to have a quality experience provided by one of
our partner colleges, universities or employers.
This booklet sets out the many opportunities provided
through our Vocational Programme. It provides the
detailed information to help you, supported by your
parents and carers and advised by school staff, to
make the right choice. You will have the chance to
meet our course providers at an information evening in
March.
The Vocational Programme has expanded considerably
in recent years and provides high quality opportunities
targeted to meet the broadest range of pupil needs. If
you require additional support in school that can also
be provided in your vocational course. Our schools
work very closely with our providers to ensure that the
vocational experience is a positive one for everyone
involved.
In East Renfrewshire Council we are proud of our
record in achieving positive destinations for the vast
majority of pupils on leaving school.
Our Vocational Programme plays a considerable part in
this success by helping to develop the relevant skills
and experiences which will stand you in good stead
beyond school. The programme is developed with an
eye to future job opportunities and to the needs of
employers – we want to make sure it delivers the best
possible outcomes for you.
