Brief description of lesson/unit.
The students will play a jeopardy game, on the computer, focusing on kitchen utensils and
appliances. We will then plan a meal that we will make together as a class. This will serve
as a review to our kitchen unit.
Use Ohio State Content Standards—Include only the standards and concepts that will be
assessed using the standard # and description. Ohio content standards can be found at
systems, and operations.
Students:
What specifically will the students do? What is their final product to show mastery of the
Standards?
At the end of the lesson, students will have attempted every jeopardy
question and will have successfully contributed to our group discussion. Our
group discussion will be focused on choosing a recipe to create using the
utensils or appliances studied.

Focus on what you want the students to learn. Include objectives that will be assessed during
this lesson. Use action words to describe skills and abilities that students will develop.
The students will be able to:
-use the computer components appropriately to manipulate the jeopardy game
-recall information learned to answer the jeopardy questions
-work together in small groups (when appropriate) to complete the jeopardy game
-participate in a group discussion to decide on a recipe to create
List all technology skills and content knowledge needed prior to teaching this lesson.
The students will need to have basic computer knowledge in order to operate the mouse
efficiently and open the appropriate document from the Desk top. The students will also need
to recall prior knowledge (kitchen utensils and appliances) necessary for answering the
jeopardy questions.
Tools and Resources
Procedures
Provide all information necessary for another teacher to replicate your lesson/unit. Also, reference your
tools and resources in this section. This ties to the concept of pre-computer, at-computer and post-computer.
Activity Instructor’s Notes
1. Readiness/Motivation
2. Focus of Lesson
3.Closure to Lesson
I will introduce the lesson as a brand new
game. I will ask the students if they have
ever heard of the game Jeopardy. I will
then tell them that they will have to put
their thinking caps on to remember the
names and uses for kitchen utensils and
appliances. We will then go around the
room and allow each student to name a
kitchen utensil or appliance and what it is
used for.
The students will find a seat in the
computer lab. Each student will open the
Power Point document titled jeopardy. I
will show them an example on the
jeopardy game to familiarize the students
with the activity. I will then explain the
rules of the game. The rules are that the
numbers on each button represent how
many points you will receive for an
answer that is right. If you get the answer
right add the number of points, and if you
get the answer wrong subtract the number
of points from your total score. (The
students will have calculators to keep
track of their points) The students will
then begin to play the game, keeping
track of their own points. The teacher and
assistants will walk around the lab,
assisting students when needed. When the
students have finished, they will be
allowed to play a game on funbrain.com
until everyone has finished.
In conclusion, we will go back to our
classroom and discuss the kitchen utensils
and appliances shown in the jeopardy
game. We will then have a group
discussion where we will choose a recipe
that our class can make using at least one
kitchen utensil and appliance. This recipe
will be made the next day.
Explain the adjustments to the lesson plan for the following environments:
1 computer
classroom
2-6 computers in
the classroom
Computer lab Handhelds or other
technology

Technology Integrated Lesson Plan Template 5
I would present the
jeopardy game on
a Smart Board, and
we would play the
game as a group,
divided into teams.
The students
would still be
required to operate
the game for the
advancement of
their technology
skills.
I would divide the
students into small
groups (according to
ability level) to
complete the jeopardy
game.
The lesson would be
completed as planned.
Modification for Differentiated Instruction
If using handhelds, the
students would
download the file to
their individual
handheld devise, and
proceed with the lesson
as planned.
1. For students who struggle with academic activities, I would pair them with a higher
functioning student to complete this activity.
2. For students who are sensory sensitive I would provide head phones for them to use
while at the computer
3. For students who struggle with fine motor tasks, I will provide them with an enlarge
mouse and keyboard to assist them in their weakness.
Assessments:
How will student learning be assessed? What criteria or rubric will be used to evaluate the
lesson/unit? Assignments should align with standards listed above. Point Values should be
given for both criteria and rubric. (whichever you choose to use)
The students would receive one point for each correct answer, and the score
would be calculated as number of correct answers out of the total possible
answers.
