In 988, the two young entrepreneurial bass players Bo Engberg 

and Mats Kristoffersson wanted to create the worlds’ best bass 

amplification. Now, twenty years later, the EBS products can be 

found in more than 30 countries and are used by many of the 

finest bass players and musicians in the world. 

In this catalog you will find the current line of professional bass 

equipment from EBS. The history of the company can be found 

in the 20th Anniversary book that can be ordered via the EBS 

website. It has many photos illustrating the development and 

progress of EBS products over the last 20 years, along with 

unique interviews with bass players from around the world.

The EBS AD-9 universal stabilized power supply is 

designed for use with almost every pedal on the market, and 

can handle all voltages, worldwide. The output is short circuit

The Power Split cables distribute the power from an 

AD-9 to more than one pedal. The split cables are available

EBS Professional Equipment – 20 Years 

Sweden is a small country, less than ten million inhabitants. 

Surprisingly enough, this country has exported a large number of 

prominent musicians. ABBA, of course, but also groups such as 

The Cardigans, Europe, Roxette, Ace of Base, The Hives, InFlames, etcetera. 

Swedish record producers such as Tore Johansson or Max Martin 

and the former Cheiron Studio crew have put their mark on modern 

popular music. 

Sweden also has a long tradition of inventive entrepreneurs supplying 

the music business with high end technology, starting with the 

Hagström Company which began making accordions but later 

built very fine electric guitars and amplification. In the 9 0s, the 

Ackuset Company, built modular PA systems that were way ahead 

of the competition and were sold to many major British bands, such 

as The Who. On a smaller scale, Sharkfin guitar picks are another 

Swedish invention. Levin and Bjärton guitars are still very popular with 

acoustic players. The story of EBS amplifiers is one of those success 

stories starting with two guys with a vision and a dream, the skills to 

succeed and the will to put in lots of hard work to make that dream 

come true. From the beginnings over 20 years ago in a basement in 

midtown Stockholm to EBS´ current position as a major player in bass 

amplification, the road has been far from straight but it has aimed in 

one direction only: forwards. 

It has been a sheer joy to write this book in collaboration with the EBS 

Crew and all the dedicated artists who have supported the company 

through the years – not because they are just nice guys (which they 

are, too) , but because the products have stood up to their tough 

demands.
