released two Monographs– 

Terminalia chebula, Carica 

papaya and a Homoeopathic 

Kit for Cough & Cold at the 

Arogya Health Mela, held 

from 14 th to 20 th October 

2006 at Okhla, New Delhi. 

The Inaugural session was 

attended by Dr Yoganand

Govt. of Delhi, Shri Verghese 

Samuel, Joint Secretary (AYUSH), Shri Shiv Basant, Joint Secretary 

(AYUSH), Directors of Research Councils and other senior officials 

of the Deptt. of AYUSH. 

Prof. C. Nayak, Director welcomed the Hon’ble Health Minister 

& other senior officials of AYUSH at the pavillion of the Council 

where he released a Homoeopathic kit for Cough & Cold. The 

Kit contains of 12 homoeopathic medicines e.g. Aconite nap., 

Allium cepa, Antim. tart., Arsenic album, Bryonia alba, 

Dulcamara, Gelsemium, Hepar sulph., Ipecac., Nux vomica, Rhus 

tox., Sabadilla along with a brief mention about their indications.

A panel discussion on “Strategy for quality of ASHU drugs” was 

held on 15 th October 2006 in which Experts from different 

systems of Medicines e.g. Dr. S.K. Sharma, Advisor (Ayurveda), 

Dr. G.S. Lavekar, Director, CCRAS, Dr. Mohd. Khalid Siddiqui, 

Director, CCRUM, Dr. C. Nayak, Director, CCRH etc. participated. 

Dr. C. Nayak, chaired a Scientific session on 16 th October 2006 

in which Dr. Jayesh V. Sanghavi delivered a lecture on 

“Awareness about Homoeopathy” and Dr. M. Sahu, Prof. Deptt. 

of Shalya, Faculty of Ayurveda, Institute of Medical Sciences, 

Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi delivered a lecture on 

“Anorectal diseases and their management in Ayurveda”. 

The Homoeopathic experts who delivered lectures are: Dr. P.V. 

Venkatraman (Management of Arthritis through Homoeopathy),

undertaken for Study under Drug Standardization for the year 

2006-07.

being implemented by the council. For effective monitoring 

of these, teams have visited different Centres as given

Research Unit (T), Bharuch, on 26-27 October, 2006 

for evaluation of studies on Gastroentritis & 

Furunculosis.

Mishra and Dr. Anita Sharma, Research Officers visited 

C.R.U. Udupi on 30 th Oct.-1 st Nov., 2006 for evaluation 

of studies on Menopausal Distress & Chronic Sinusitis. 

• Dr. V. P. Singh, Asstt. Director (H) and Dr. Anita Sharma, 

R.O.(H) visited Central Research Institute, Kottayam 

on 6-8 November 2006 for evaluation of studies on 

Schizophrenia and Depressive Episode. 

• Dr. Vikram Singh, Astt. Director (H), Dr. (Mrs.) Jaya 

Gupta and Dr. P.S. Chakraborty, Research Officers visited 

Regional Research Institute, Shimla on 6-7 November, 

2006 for evaluation of studies on Acute 

tracheobronchitis. 

• Dr. (Mrs.) K. Singh, Astt. Director (H), Dr. (Mrs.) Reeta 

Bagai, and Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Research Officers 

visited Regional Research Institute, Puri on 9-10 

November, 2006 for evaluation of studies on Vitiligo.

Jaya Gupta, R.O.(H) visited Drug Proving Research 

Institute, Kolkata on 13-14 November, 2006 & CRU 

(T), Port Blair on 15 Nov., 2006 for evaluation of studies 

on Tropical Eosinophilia. They visited Drug Proving Unit, 

Bhubneshwar (Ext. Unit of RRI (H), Puri) on 16 Nov., 

2006 for monitoring the ongoing assignment of Drug
