I have been teaching on the BIT program since October 2004, both IT <strong>and</strong> Management<br />

as well as Decision Sciences at Masters at the Faculty <strong>of</strong> <strong>Computing</strong> <strong>and</strong> Information<br />

<strong>Technology</strong>, Makerere University.


E) SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE<br />

1983 Worked with the project team to install the Kampala- Entebbe Microwave<br />

system.<br />

1984 Worked with the project team to install the Kampala- Masaka Microwave<br />

system.<br />

1985 Corrected system errors made by contractor on Kampala- Jinja, Kampala-<br />

Mbale Switching systems after installation <strong>of</strong> new E-10B Digital Switch.<br />

1990 Set up LANs for Ug<strong>and</strong>a Airlines, British Airways, Ug<strong>and</strong>a Travel Bureau,<br />

Ear<strong>of</strong>lot Airlines, Zambia Airlines, Air Tanzania., with SITA staff from<br />

Nairobi. We also installed intelligent terminals for these sites.<br />

1991 Set up LAN for Sabena airlines as well as CPUs for the Kampala <strong>and</strong> Airport<br />

<strong>of</strong>fices with Engineers from KLM in the Netherl<strong>and</strong>s.<br />

1992 Set up the first Fiber-optic network for greater Kampala with the late Engineer<br />

Bugonga, Engineer Musajjakaawa, <strong>and</strong> an Engineer from Fujitsu, Nakahara,<br />

Tokyo, Japan.<br />

1993 Started implementing PCs on the SITA network, thus replacing the intelligent<br />

terminals.<br />

1995 Planned the new Entebbe-Kampala Fiber-optic network using knowledge<br />

gained from Fujitsu <strong>and</strong> Nepostel.<br />

1998 My improvement plan was implemented <strong>and</strong> I participated in the Installation,<br />

testing <strong>and</strong> commissioning <strong>of</strong> the new NEAX digital switch.<br />

2001Installed 70 PCs (COMPAQ) to add capacity to Computer teaching at Makerere<br />

University Business <strong>School</strong>.<br />

2003 Participated in the Makerere Campus Wide Area Networking Project. This<br />

implemented a network connecting Makerere University to Kabanyolo, MUBS,<br />

Mulago Hospital <strong>and</strong> Pathology.<br />

2003 November Installed 40 PCs (HP) to create a new networked LAB for IT<br />

teaching at Makerere University Business <strong>School</strong>.<br />

F) GENERAL EXPERIENCE<br />

1978 – 1981 Technical Trainee- Installing, testing <strong>and</strong> maintaining Analog<br />

systems.<br />

1981 - 1983 Technical Officer- Training new staff <strong>and</strong> carrying out<br />

advanced repairs on Telecommunication systems.<br />

1983 – 1987 Senior Technical Officer- Carrying out routine <strong>and</strong> end <strong>of</strong> year<br />

line-ups, advanced repairs, scheduling <strong>of</strong> jobs.<br />

1987 – 1992 Assistant Engineer- Officer-In-Charge <strong>of</strong> Maintenance.<br />

1992 – 1993 Sectional Engineer- Nation-wide maintenance <strong>of</strong> Transmission <strong>and</strong><br />

Radio equipment,(both analog <strong>and</strong> digital), Training <strong>of</strong> fresh<br />

graduates as Pupil Engineers.<br />

1993- March 2001 Division Engineer/Area Manager (DTO/ Entebbe- In-Charge <strong>of</strong> the<br />
