The <strong>CPWD</strong> website has also been made more interactive and all circulars etc. are being<br />
posted on same. Facility to receive feedback from visitors has also been introduced.<br />
A fully computerized complaint receiving and monitoring system is already being used by<br />
<strong>CPWD</strong> in Delhi. The service can be accessed at http://cpwdsewa.nic.in .<br />
IMPROVEMENTS MADE IN MAINTENANCE<br />
During FY 2006-07 <strong>CPWD</strong> has made special efforts to usher in improvements in its<br />
maintenance operations. All field officers have been directed to be more responsive and to<br />
pay personal attention to the grievances brought to their notice. As an experiment <strong>CPWD</strong><br />
has outsourced maintenance of certain selected colonies and engaged a single agency for<br />
carrying out all operations. This experiment has just gone underway and initial reports<br />
indicate that it will be a successful venture and will also encourage the regular <strong>CPWD</strong><br />
workers to perform better. Besides this, in the current financial year, special funds have been<br />
received for taking up works of aesthetic improvement and retrofitting of old quarters. With<br />
this the look of old quarters is being slowly changed and this is generating higher satisfaction<br />
amongst residents.<br />
Involvement of <strong>CPWD</strong> in development of roads in Bihar<br />
<strong>CPWD</strong> is actively involved in development of roads and highways in the state of Bihar. 2000<br />
Km. of State highways under Rashtrya Sam Vikas Yojna in 33 districts of Bihar valued at<br />
about Rs. 3000 crore and 1222 Km. of roads under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna in 4<br />
districts in Bihar valued at about Rs. 600 crore have been taken up by the department.<br />
Execution of works related to the Health sector by <strong>CPWD</strong>:<br />
<strong>CPWD</strong> has completed the work of Cardio Neuro Tower at AIIMS, Delhi. Department has<br />
been further assigned large works by for AIIMS, New Delhi. These include construction of<br />
super specialty hospitals etc. The total project is likely to cost about Rs. 1200 crore.<br />
Currently <strong>CPWD</strong> is also involved in planning, designing and up-gradation of 4 hospitals at<br />
Jammu, Srinagar, Varanasi and Dhanbad under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna.
