The "Jardins du Prince d’Orange"
domain in one of the most prestigious
quarter in Ukkel witnesses to a new
housing concept following the
American "condominium"
concept. A
group of five contemporary,
character
villas were built on a
common area.
Pure class, to which
Vantage naturally
makes its contribution.
You may love a green
environment, without
wanting to be
responsible for its
maintenance yourself.
And increasingly
there is a problem of
burglary or homejacking
for those
who live slightly more quietly or isolated.
The promoter Hervé Jacobs took
these findings as the basis for the
"Jardins du Prince d’Orange" project.
Although the domain remains communal
each house has a small garden for
which one company is responsible for
maintenance. The result forms a har-
monious whole. Within this whole the
houses are directed in such a way that
they guarantee maximum privacy. In
addition living here is safe for residents
thanks to a state-of-the-art security
system.

New buttons
The buttons on the keypad were renewed
a while ago. They do look the same.
The advantage is that they can easily be
removed from the keypads.
Consequently they can easily be changed.
Which, among other things, is an
advantage when inscribing the square
buttons. 1 button must also be removed
in order to connect the Q-rs232 cable
(see below).

An additional colour will also be available

Q-RS232-cable
Since adding a RS232 station to the
range it has been possible to programme
directly onto the bus from anywhere.
The design for the keypads has been
changed, a plug is provided in them to
allow direct programming without
having to dismantle the keypad (under
key 5). Consequently you will see the
result of your programming directly in
your environment.

A Q-RS232 cable to connect the keypad
to a Q-RS232 station

The touch-screen is also available in a
traditional design. This design is only
available in satin chrome.

Q-videostation
The Q-videostation is available in various
designs, whether or not combined
with an 8-keypad, a strip station or
LCD-touchscreen. The Q-videostation
will receive any video signal from
cameras, switchers, matrix, videos, etc.
And can also be combined with video
entry systems.

New user-friendly programming software
It should be clarified that the Vantage system is not a computer
based system. But the system is programmed with the help of ‘Qlink’
software written in a computer and windows environment.
The unique characteristic of Vantage software is that it upgrades
the software and hardware system. In other words your system
will remain up-to-date.
This new software offers numerous new possibilities:
• Operating and programming light sensors.
• Copy and paste function.
In this way the same thing does not have to be programmed
over and over again.
• Overview per room or area
• Further extensions, adaptations for various audio/video
components, for programming the modem

Message for the architect !
On 30/11/01 we are organising an architects’ day –
this day is exclusively intended for architects or interior
designers. You must register. Numerous information
sessions relating to home automation in general
and Vantage are arranged on that day. They each last
2 hours + 2 hours for visiting a project in the neighbourhood.
The first session begins at 9.00 a.m. After a
2 hour explanation we will tour a project together.

audio/video and security. Which is
naturally right up Vantage’s street.

villas at the beginning. This made the
choice of the home automation system
very difficult. Because I couldn’t tell at
all how the future residents would live.
That is one of the reasons why we chose

to operate in accordance with his/her

And he continues enthusiastically: "In

But let’s take a little look…
When the residents leave the villa, they need only enter a code for all the lights to fade
gradually, the music to stop and the alarm to arm.
The domain is completely enclosed, the
private-entrance is guarded by a video
security camera and access code. In
addition each residence has windows
with anti-burglary glass and also with a
double alarm system.
Vantage has everything under
control.
If someone rings the bell, the system
switches on the tv’s and ensures that
the camera signal is sent to all tv’s. If
you are welcome, the door or gate is
opened by remote control or by telephone.
The garage doors can also be
opened or closed from a distance.
As soon as access is given to the
domain, a clear pleasant light welcomes
residents or guests to a particular villa.
It lights the drive to the residence concerned.
Before even setting foot in the villa, we
notice how everything here is aimed at
comfort. The stairs to the entrance will
be lit before the front door is opened.
From the moment that the door opens,
motion sensors ensure that you are not
left in the dark anywhere inside.
Are the owners receiving guests?
Lighting, heating and music are tuned
in to each other in the correct way,
according to the residents’ wishes. They

keypad or the remote control.
Let us go upstairs. Here we find the
same structure. Motion sensors ensure
that lights automatically switch on if
someone is coming, LED’s always show
the correct button on the keypads, curtains
and music can easily be operated.
And as we are talking about music, …

favourite radio station in the bath, in
the living room the guests are enjoying
Vivaldi, the news is on in the kitchen.
All this is possible. Vantage controls a
high-end audio-distribution system
that makes any combination possible.
Naturally the alarm installation is also
integrated. When the residents leave
the villa, they need only enter a code
for all the lights to fade gradually, the
music to stop and the alarm to arm. In
addition integrated timers ensure that
the curtains close in the evening.
The same timers also have many more
skills, you can set all kinds of actions for
them. In this way the Vantage system
can wake the residents in the morning,
immediately open the curtains, start
their favourite CD and … make coffee.

That Vantage also has a range of products
on offer in building management. In this
way we have a light sensor available in our
range. Depending on the light density
within an area the light in this area is automatically adapted.
Different light groups may be introduced with a relative different
in dimming level. Practically this means that the light which
lights a workplace on the window side will have a different level
of lighting to a light which lights a workplace which is not by a
window. However when it gets dark outside both dimming levels
will become identical. This is carried out by the renowned
VANTAGE software which is known for its condition applications.
In combination with the 0-14V ballast Interface, also in the

The diary was drawn up in the beginning of the year –
additional training sessions may be added – if you
would like to be kept informed of this you can call or
mail Ilse or ilsev@l-technv.com . The training sessions
always begin precisely at 09.00 a.m. – they end around
5.00 p.m. A computer is an absolute must for Vantage
training sessions. The topics are short training sessions
that are each 3 hours in duration. These are usually
given in the evening.
Basic trainings are charged at 50 euro (excl. VAT) per
participant. This amount is repaid on the first Vantage
purchase. If you register for a training session your
registration is always confirmed by fax. So fill the reply
fax in as quickly as possible.
Description of training session
1) Basic: basic of Vantage: hardware – system composition
– cabling – programming – start-up and commencement
of operation.
2) Advanced: you have already followed the Vantage
basic training – you are in the middle of your 1st
installation. This day is entirely devoted to programming.
3) Topics: You have followed both the basic and
advanced training sessions and you want to learn
about certain details for example music programming
and Ir-codes – the thermostat in the bus...
