hazel cameron [Walcha]
Hazel is a member of the Westpac Rescue
Helicopter Service Walcha Support Group and
has been a valued Treasurer and more recently
stepped up to the position of Chairperson.
She has shown a great commitment to the
organisation and its fundraising efforts through
organising and assisting at bike rides, bowls
days, golf days, raffle ticket selling and anything
else that can make money for this wonderful
service. Hazel is a very valued member of the
Walcha community and we are lucky to have her
assisting our organisation and raising the profile
of our emergency aero-medical search and rescue
service for rural and remote communities across
the New England and North West Region of NSW.
stephanie cameron [Tamworth]
Stephanie was born in Grafton. Her family moved
to Sydney, then Gunnedah and finally to Tamworth
in 1989 where she completed high school. In
1992 Stephanie attended university and gained
a Bachelor of Applied Science before returning to
Tamworth in 1996. Stephanie co-owns East West
EnviroAg where she is the Operations Manager.
The company provides the opportunity for her
to pursue her interest in science, mentor staff
and interact with the agricultural community.
Keen to put something back into the community,
Stephanie joined the Tamworth Regional
Landcare Association and was instrumental in
the formation of the Tamworth Urban Landcare
Group in 2008. She is the Secretary and organises
many events such as tree planting along the
Peel River. Stephanie’s husband Adrian and their
children Rory and Davina, are also very active in
these events. She strongly believes in mentoring
her children to care about the environment and
community they live in. Stephanie is Chairperson
of the annual Sustainable Namoi Living Program
Organising Committee. This Program encourages
individuals, households and businesses to reduce
their carbon footprint and live more sustainably.
Recent highlights included an expo and associated
regional events with more than 4000 people
attending. Stephanie gains great satisfaction from
participating in community environmental projects
(which take up at least 10 hours a week on top
of a full working week and family activities) and
particularly mentoring new Landcare members.
margaret campbell
of the Kempsey community. As former Secretary
of the Kempsey & District Ratepayers & Residents
Associations, she was instrumental in bringing
the voice of residents to the forefront on issues
such as local policing, health services and living
expenses. Margaret has also been very committed
in supporting an upgrade of the Kempsey District
Hospital. She is a true community champion who
dedicates many hours to local needs.
