Londonderry’s high school team bears that out. “Except for team member Kyle Maley, who has been with us for four years, the rest of us have been together for nine years,” LHS team member Farrah Ashe said. As all the LHS team members are seniors, that means the LHS team has been together since the fourth grade. Melanson said the town and schools should be very proud of the teams and their advancement to the Global Competition. JAY HOBSON LONDONDERRY TIMES ————––––––————–◆ On Easter Sunday, March, 31, at about 5:30 p.m., Sarah Stewart, 6, who lives at 131 Winterwood Road and attends South School, went to a friend and neighbor’s porch to get some bubbles to play with. After retrieving the bubbles, she turned and tripped over a leash that was attached to Oliver, a Pit Bull-Labrador retriever mix, and fell on him. Oliver’s reaction to Sarah’s fall was a startled bite to her forehead and ear that required stitches, and also required Oliver to make a trip to the police station, where he has been held in quarantine ever since. “She went over to 123 (Winterwood) to get some bubbles and she tripped on the leash and landed on the dog and the dog bit her in the forehead and side of her face by her ear,” said Debbie Stewart, Sarah’s mother. Stewart said the neighborhood is a tight-knit community. “We’re like family here,” she said. “They’ve confirmed to us and let us all know that he (Oliver) is not coming back. Right now he’s at the police department in quarantine and they are trying to find a place where they can put him and they’re trying to see what they can do. This won’t affect our friendship.” Stewart said that if Oliver moves to another home, that would be great. She said her family does not want the dog euthanized, just not returning to the neighborhood. At a recent visit, Sarah sat on the couch, her bandages off, a pink tray across her lap. She was coloring with intense concentration. Earlier that day she had a brief visit from her teacher and South School principal Linda Boyd. Across the yard, literally steps away at 123 Winterwood, Lisa Palmieri, Oliver’s owner, answered her door and stepped outside.
