We desire to build a country of which we can be justly and truly<br />
proud, a country in which we can live and share our happiness in<br />
brotherhood, a country to which we can all be truly loyal, in short,<br />
a new nation of Malaysia, ademocracy of many races and creeds living<br />
in peace and harmony which a democracy space can be an<br />
example to the world.<br />

We do not go by any 'isms or ideologies. We are nationalists<br />
and we will do whatever is good in the interests of the people. For<br />
this reason, I refuse to label our economy as socialist or capitalist.<br />

There is no half-way house in loyalty, and loyalty to the land of<br />
his birth or adoption is the only true test of a citizen. Any laws or<br />
regulations on citizenship which do not ensure and maintain the<br />
preservation of that fundamental and sole loyalty must fail in their<br />
purpose. If you honour and love your country you must value its<br />
citizenship as a treasure of great price. That is the standard by<br />
which our citizenship laws must be measured.<br />

As far as 1 am concerned , I am not very interested in politics.<br />
I am more interested in administering the government and looking<br />
after the welfare and the well being of the people and the nation.<br />

Malaysia will be a crescent among the nations of Asia.<br />

The creation of Malaysia will be one of the most significant<br />
events in all the long history of South-East Asia, because it will<br />
bring to an end the era of colonialism in Singapore, Sabah, Sarawak<br />
and Brunei. They will share with the eleven states of our peninsula<br />
the freedom and prestige, which the sovereign state of the Federation<br />
of Malaya now enjoys.<br />
