Type N<br />
Type “N” consists <strong>of</strong> bars <strong>of</strong> full height in both directions. The advantage <strong>of</strong> type “N”<br />
is that the <strong>grating</strong> has the same appearance on both sides. Type “N” has the same<br />
strength as type “SP” providing that it is installed correctly (broken bearing bars on<br />
top)<br />

Type “NP” is a hybrid <strong>of</strong> both “SP” and “N”. Comprising full height bearing bars in one<br />
direction and uniform reduced height bars in the other. Providing a more aesthetic appearance<br />
than “SP” which is less expensive than “N”.<br />

Product Advantages<br />
Elefant ® <strong>grating</strong>s are pressure welded at each intersection ensuring maximum<br />
strength in Carbon Steel & Stainless Steel materials. This has an advantage over<br />
other <strong>grating</strong> products:<br />
Compared to “pressure locked” <strong>grating</strong>s:<br />
Stronger - higher point load capabilities suitable for vehicular traffic.<br />
Versatile - site alterations can be easily made, as cutting can be done with<br />
hand grinders with no danger <strong>of</strong> bars popping out.<br />
Flexible - any mesh size from 9 mm up to 100 mm in any increment,<br />
ensuring equalized apertures in any panel size.<br />
Rolling - because <strong>of</strong> the welded structure <strong>of</strong> the <strong>grating</strong>s it is also possible<br />
to roll to a given radius.<br />
Compared to “flow forged” <strong>grating</strong>s:<br />
Variety - not just standard mesh patterns from standard sheets elefant ®<br />
<strong>grating</strong>s are made to order allowing for greater control over<br />
direction <strong>of</strong> mesh and bearing direction to suit individual<br />
requirements.<br />
Aesthetic - flat bars in both directions are generally more appealing especially<br />
our full depth “Type N” <strong>grating</strong> used extensively for balustrade infills<br />
and brise soleil panels.<br />
Alignment - owing to elefant ® <strong>grating</strong>s being specially manufactured to customer<br />
requirements we are able to align bars accurately where panels are<br />
<strong>of</strong> the same size. A unique feature that proves wasteful from standard<br />
stock panels with varying bar tolerances.<br />
Finished - bespoke <strong>grating</strong>s supplied with +0/-2 mm dimensional tolerances<br />
complete with fixing plates, cleats or clips finished to your<br />
<strong>specification</strong> ready for site fitting all within a normal 4 working week<br />
programme. (certain finishes may require additional lead time).<br />
