Udgaarden<br />
The 15 houses <strong>in</strong> the association are heated on a comb<strong>in</strong>ation <strong>of</strong> solar<br />
panels and wooden chips, through a central heat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>stallation. The<br />
blue wooden houses all face south and have extra <strong>in</strong>sulation and double<br />
glaz<strong>in</strong>g. The heat<strong>in</strong>g bill for each house per month is very low, at<br />
present about 250 Dkr per month. We have a large ra<strong>in</strong>water storage<br />
system, designed to provide water for wash<strong>in</strong>g mach<strong>in</strong>es and toilets.<br />
We are work<strong>in</strong>g on some plans for a w<strong>in</strong>dmill to make us selfsufficient<br />
with electricity.<br />
We are open to visits and tours <strong>of</strong> the site but it is necessary to call <strong>in</strong><br />
advance to arrange your visit. It will cost a small amount depend<strong>in</strong>g on<br />
the size <strong>of</strong> the group.<br />
