GENERAL DESCRIPTION<br />
SDU-450XL, B/W Linear Convex scanner, employs software<br />
controlled Digital <strong>System</strong> Manager (DSM) architecture.<br />
DSM is realized by technology migration from SHIMADZU<br />
state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging modalities, such as MRI.<br />
DSM, powered by high performance RISC processor,<br />
FEATURES<br />
1. DSM controlled Multi-Dimensional Signal<br />
Enhancement<br />
DSM tunes multiple imaging parameters for<br />
beamformation, echo signal processing, image<br />
formation and temporal/spatial image processing in<br />
real time to accomplish the best enhancement of total<br />
system performance.<br />
This revolutionary central operating environment<br />
allows software to up-grade SDU-450XL to meet the<br />
future application requirements.<br />
2. Wide Aperture Imaging<br />
Utilizing wide aperture beamforming provides<br />
outstanding image uniformity and deeper penetration<br />
beyond other ultrasound scanners in its class.<br />
3. Full Spectrum Imaging Technology<br />
Full Spectrum Imaging is the result of incorporation of<br />
broad band beamformer technology and broad band<br />
probe technology.<br />
Over 10MHz imaging with extremely fine detail resolution<br />
is now achievable for compact ultrasound scanner.<br />
4. True Line image formation<br />
Real time echo pixel relocation technology enables to<br />
position each echo data at native place in the image<br />
memory and makes edge of the organ more crisp -<br />
True Line.<br />

and makes SDU-450XL compact, lighter and more mobile.<br />
And best of all, software controlled DSM architecture<br />
provides extreme flexibility and sets SDU-450XL as the<br />

5. Unparalleled Compact Design<br />
DSM architecture allows to cut the number of<br />
conventional hardware modules by half and leads to<br />
compact design. Not like other small ultrasound<br />
scanner, specific arrangement of mechanical<br />
components provides superior capability for SDU-450XL<br />
to carry peripheral equipment.<br />
6. Digital Communication Path<br />
SDU-450XL communicates with PC and download<br />
images in original digital quality for long term storage<br />
via PC-compatible PC-card and/or cable interface.<br />
