The case of Kiwalamo villagers‘ claim for compensation <strong>and</strong>/or reclaiming <strong>l<strong>and</strong></strong> is<br />

particularly peculiar because the investor has not acquired any <strong>l<strong>and</strong></strong> from Kiwalamo<br />

Village. As it has been narrated above, some of the villagers from Kiwalamo had been<br />

using <strong>l<strong>and</strong></strong> in Kidabaga before <strong>and</strong> after they had to relocate to their current village during<br />

the villagization of 1974-1975. Since this <strong>l<strong>and</strong></strong> is under the jurisdiction of Kidabaga<br />

Village Council it has been difficult to claim their stake through their own Kiwalamo<br />

Village Council. The draft minutes of a meeting dated 18 May 2010 entitled ‗KIKAO<br />

CHA JAMII YA WANAKIJIJI CHA KIWALAMO WALIODHAMIWA [SIC]<br />

MAENEO YAO NA WAHISANI WA (NEW FOREST)‘, that is, ‗A MEETING OF<br />
