Powell Site, Kingston, MAS #M41-NW-113:<br />
Sample: wood charcoal from a firepit (feature #15) containing fire-cracked rock, felsite<br />
and quartz chips. A ground slate effigy with serrations and incised markings was<br />
recovered close by at approximately the same depth (20 cm) as the top of the feature.<br />
Conventional age of sample: 4175 ± 145 (GX-14167) in radiocarbon years before 1950 ±<br />
1 sigma. C-13 corrected. 013C = -26.1 0/00. Error is judged by the analytical data alone.<br />
l4C half-life: 5570 years; 95% NBS Oxalic Acid Standard. (Bernard Otto, Massasoit<br />
