Treatment • Primary, y, secondary, y, early y latent infection – Benzathine Penicillin G 2.4 million units IM x one • Alternatives: doxy 100 mg BID x 14 days, tetracycline 500 mg po QID x 14 days • Late latent, tertiary – Aqueous Benzathine penicillin G 2.4 million units IM q week x 3 weeks • Neurosyphilis - PCN G 3-4 million units IV q day x10 x 10 - 14 days – desensitization if allergic Diagnosis and Management of SyphilisDAVID L.
