Contribution to E.U. Directive on intelligent transport
systems deployment
Agreed priority areas
■ Optimal use of road, traffic and travel data;
■ Continuity of traffic and freight management ITS services;
■ ITS road safety and security applications;
■ Linking the vehicle with
the transport infrastructure
CVIS and SAFESPOT developed cooperative platforms and applications that demonstrated how intelligent
vehicles on intelligent roads can improve
network efficiency and safety. Projects outcomes are being used in
several follow-up initiatives, e.g european projects FREILOT, eCoMove and COSMO. Both projects took an
active part in the standardization of the co-operative
systems (architecture, communication protocols, and
messages)
via ETSI and CEN.
