Signed as an undra ed rookie free agent with <strong>Detroit</strong> Apr. 30, 2010, Berry<br />

impressed <strong>Lions</strong>’ coaches through training camp and the preseason earning<br />

a spot on the 53-man roster.<br />

2010: With a start in the regular season opener at Chicago, Berry along<br />

with rookies DT Ndamukong Suh and RB Jahvid Best, the <strong>Lions</strong> started a<br />

total of seven rookies on opening day over two seasons (2009-10). Seven<br />

rookie starters are the most by the <strong>Lions</strong> in back-to-back seasons since<br />

1973, when rookie starters were fi rst tracked.<br />

In fi rst career game and start at Chicago (9/12) returned an interception<br />

for 23 yards in the fi rst quarter to set up a RB Jahvid Best 7-yard score<br />

on the ensuing drive. Suff ered an injury early in the second quarter and<br />

did not return to the game.<br />

COLLEGE<br />

Berry spent his four-year collegiate career at Pittsburgh where he played<br />

in 48 games with 33 starts, tallying 93 tackles, 27 pass defenses, 2.0 sacks<br />

and 6 interceptions.<br />

Finished career as a two-time All-Big East cornerback, including fi rstteam<br />

honors as a senior.<br />

Compiled 31 tackles, 10 pass defenses and an interception in 2009<br />

despite missing two games due to a shoulder injury. Led Big East (tied)<br />

in pass defenses per game (1.0 average).<br />

In 2008, All-Big East (second team). Compiled 41 tackles, a sack, 3 interceptions<br />

(ranked second on team) and a team high 10 pass defenses.<br />

Also recorded 76 yards on 14 punt returns (5.4 avg).<br />

Played in all 12 games in 2007, starting the fi nal nine contests. Had 19<br />

tackles and a team-high two interceptions. Also tied for second on the<br />

team with 5 pass defenses.<br />

Pitt’s top punt returner and averaged 8.6 yards on 24 returns (206 total<br />

yards). His 8.6 yards/punt return average ranked third in the Big East.<br />

Lettered as a true freshman ion 2006, serving on special teams and as<br />

a reserve cornerback. Played in all 12 games and recorded 2 tackles<br />

and 2 pass defenses at UCF.<br />

PERSONAL<br />

Standout defensive back and receiver at Bishop McDevitt who ranked among<br />

Pennsylvania’s most heralded players. Named to the Associated Press<br />

Pennsylvania Class AAAA All-State Team (fi rst team).<br />

Averaged over 19 yards per catch as a senior with 67 receptions for<br />

1,278 yards and 21 touchdowns. Had eight interceptions at cornerback,<br />

returning 3 for touchdowns.<br />

Averaged 13.3 yards per punt return (25 attempts for 333 yards) and<br />

21.3 per kick return (three for 64).<br />

Led team to a 13-1 record, the District 3/6 Class AAAA championship<br />

and the semifi nals of the PIAA playoff s.<br />

Despite missing fi ve games his junior year due to a shoulder injury,<br />

averaged 24.1 yards per catch with 32 receptions for 771 yards and 7<br />

touchdowns. Also had 4 interceptions. Led the team to a 10-3 mark<br />

and the district title.<br />

PrepStar All-American.<br />

Played under Coach Jeff Weachter and earned three letters in football<br />

and also played basketball and ran track.<br />

The son of Aaron Berry Sr., and Mary Ann McKinney. Has two sisters and<br />

one brother. Born Aaron Douglas Berry Jr., June 25, 1988.<br />
