overall) of the 2007 NFL Dra .<br />
PRO<br />
Fi h-year veteran who joins the <strong>Lions</strong> a er spending his fi rst four seasons in<br />
Jacksonville. Has played in 50 career games with 42 starts at both outside<br />
and middle linebacker. With the Jaguars, compiled 417 tackles (292 solo),<br />
2.0 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 2 interceptions, 11 pass<br />
defenses and 22 tackles-for-loss.<br />
Recorded a season-high 135 tackles in 2009.<br />
Moved to middle linebacker during the 2009 season and made a<br />
career-high 13 starts.<br />
Led the team with 7 tackles-for-loss and ranked third with 113<br />
tackles in 2008.<br />
2010: Played in 10 games with 9 starts, fi nishing with 99 tackles (71 solo),<br />
a fumble recovery and 3 pass defenses.<br />
Started at outside linebacker vs. Denver (9/12) and tied for a team-high<br />
11 tackles (6 solo) in 54 snaps.<br />
Sprained his ankle at San Diego (9/19) and was inactive for the following<br />
three games: vs. Philadelphia (9/26), vs. Indianapolis (10/3)<br />
and at Buff alo (10/10).<br />
Led team with 15 tackles (11 solo) at Kansas City (10/24).<br />
Tied career-high 17 tackles (16 solo), including 2 tackles-for-loss at<br />
Dallas (10/31).<br />
Started vs. Houston (11/14) and fi nished with 8 tackles (4 solo). Recovered<br />
Texans’ TE Joel Dreessen’s fumble with eight seconds le in the<br />
fourth quarter. The Jaguars went on to win with a 50-yard Hail Mary<br />
pass from David Garrard to Mike Thomas.<br />
Missed the fi nal three games of the season with a groin injury: at<br />
Indianapolis (12/18), vs. Washington (12/16) and at Houston (1/2).<br />
COLLEGE<br />
Became fi rst player in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference history to earn MEAC<br />
Defensive player of the Year honors three times. Started 39 of 43 games<br />
at middle linebacker and ranked second in school history with 353 tackles<br />
(185 solo). Contributed 10.0 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries and 4 interceptions.<br />
Selected as Sheridan Broadcasting Network Black College All-America<br />
three times, joining the likes of QB Steve McNair (Alcorn State), LB<br />
Tracy White (Howard), S Antoine Bethea (Howard) and TE Shannon<br />
Sharpe (Savannah State) as three-time members of that prestigious<br />
post-season team.<br />

PERSONAL<br />
Brother of former North Carolina quarterback Darian Durant.<br />
Established a program in the 2009 off season with the linebackers to<br />
make bi-weekly visits to Wolfson Children’s Hospital, where the players<br />
visit with patients, sign autographs and distribute gi s.<br />
