Attached to this memorandum are the telephone logs for the Maxim Hotel and
Casino, 160 East Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV.
Ziad Jarrah, the hijacker pilot of United Airlines (UA) Flight 93, flew to Las
Vegas, NV from Baltiniore, MDon 06/07/2001. Investigation conducted by the Federal
Bureau of Investigation was unable to determine where Jarrah stayed during the time he
was in Las Vegas, NV, from 06/07/2001 until 06/1012001.
A review of the available FBI databases by Marco A. Cordero determined that
Jarrah made two telephone calls from 702-731-4300 to 800-494-8459, a calling card
access number. Jarrah then called-his Aysel Senguen in Germany. The calls were placed
on 06/08/2001.
Further investigation determined that 702-731-4300 was the telephone number of
the Maxim Hotel and Casino, 160 East Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV. The hotel
closed, and ceased operating on 08/17/2001. The bankruptcy trustee is Larry L Bertsch,
CPA, 285 East Warm Springs Road, Las Vegas, NY .. The attorney for the principal
creditor is Norman Lawrence Stevens, III of the law finn of Gardere, Wynne, Sewell,
LLP, 1000 Louisiana, Houston, Texas. Mr. Stevens was contacted and stated that the
remaining records of the Maxim Hotel and Casino were maintained by Mr. Bertsch in
Las Vegas, NV.
Mr. Bertsch was contacted and stated that the only records remaining for Maxim
Hotel and Casino were telephone logs; that is the computer printout for charges made to
individual rooms for the use of the telephone. The folios and other hotel documents,
which indicate the names and addresses of hotel guests, have been destroyed. Mr.
Bertsch stated that he would located the telephone logs for the period of time from
06/07/2001 through 06/1 012001 to determine if Ziad Jarrah was a registered guest and
had accessed the telephone system of the hotel.
On 04/06/2004, Mr. Bertsch forwarded to the Commission, by facsimile, the
telephone logs of the Maxim Hotel for 06/08/2001. The logs show that Ziad Jarrah made
four outgoing telephone calls from room number 848. Mr. Bertsch stated that Jarrah was

a registered guest. Mr. Bertsch based this assertion on the fact that Jarrah's name appears
on the telephone logs as the registered guest in room 848.
The first telephone call was at 1:00 pm (Pf'T) to 800-532-4343 an account access
number for SunTrust Bank. The second telephone call was at1:14 to 877-864-0197.
This is also a SunTrust Bank telephone number that is used to access information on
debit cards. The third call was a 1:40 pm to 800-494-8459 and a second call to the same
number at 1:43 pm. This telephone number is an access number for a Sprint telephone
card. These were the calls to Aysel Senguen.

registered to Room #848 and made 4 phone caHs between 1:OOpm and 2:00pm and
further indicates the number caueo.
I do not show Ziad Jarrad on the records for 6/7. 6/9, or 9/10.
