GOD'S FORD ON THE GO<br />

WHEN THE FIRE FELL<br />
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of <strong>Go</strong>d, that ye present your bodies a living<br />
sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto <strong>Go</strong>d, which is your reasonable service.<br />
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that<br />
ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of <strong>Go</strong>d. (Romans 12:1-2)<br />
I was in the hospital about five weeks and then came home to recuperate. When I was able, I<br />
wrote letters of resignation to every organization in which I held an office. I stated that I had found<br />
something better and meant to be faithful to <strong>Go</strong>d first. In other words I was launching out into the<br />
deep with <strong>Go</strong>d.<br />
I read all the books I could get (I liked the biographies of the old timers best) and I absorbed and<br />
meditated over the same. <strong>The</strong> books were a tremendous help to me at that time.<br />
<strong>On</strong>e day while I was meditating and happy I was alive and was doing my best to be obedient in<br />
every detail, it seemed as though I was on the outside of my body. It seemed to be only an empty<br />
shell. As I was looking into this empty vessel, a ball, not too large, the color of burnished gold<br />
dropped into it. What peace I had!<br />
"If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and<br />
meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." (II Timothy 2:21)<br />
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of <strong>Go</strong>d, and<br />
not of us." (II Corinthians 4:7)<br />
