The Golf Swing<br />
The Golf Swing, Swing Progression and <strong>Skills</strong> Tests<br />
A series of skill tests follow each segment of the basic skills and swing instruction in this Golf <strong>Sport</strong>s <strong>Skills</strong> program to<br />
measure athlete's progress in the golf program, These prescribed tests will identify certain parameters for various golf<br />
skill, i.e., putting, chipping, pitching, etc. However, the individual instructors, as needed, due to the athlete’s<br />
abilities, may modify these tests.<br />
The Golf Swing and Swing Progression<br />
Through demonstration and practice the athlete will learn the basic golf swing skills and swing progression.<br />
Coach’s Note:<br />
Arranging for some kind of success in hitting the golf ball is important to motivate the athlete to have interest in and to<br />
continue in the game.<br />
An analysis of the golf swing reveals separate actions, which if done in sequence account for total movement. It is<br />
also known that all distinct skills of golf-putting, chipping and pitching-are scaled down versions of the full swing. With<br />
this in mind, the concept of golf skills-swing progression was designed so that the athlete can start with a simple<br />
movement and progress to a more complex one through:<br />
