Signed with the Shock as a free agent on March 10, <strong>2010</strong> . . . Orginally drafted by the Phoenix<br />
Mercury in the 2003 <strong>WNBA</strong> Draft (3rd Round, 33rd Overall) but never played for the team . . . Is the<br />
only rookie in the <strong>WNBA</strong> over the age of 30 and is the eighth oldest player in the league in <strong>2010</strong>.<br />
COLLEGE CAREER<br />
Despite only playing three years at the University of North Carolina, Jones was named to the<br />
Atlantic Coast Conference’s 50th Anniversary women’s basketball team . . . Jones was the<br />
starting point guard as a freshman on the Tar Heels team that won the national championship in<br />
1994. . . She averaged 14.1 points that season and in 1995 became the fi rst Tar Heels sophomore<br />
to reach the 1,000-point mark. . . Jones was 9-0 in Atlanta Coast Conference Tournament<br />
play as a member of championship teams in 1994, 1994 and 1997. . . She was named to<br />
the ACC All-Freshman team in 1994 and to the 1995 NCAA West Regional All-Tournament Team<br />
. . . She was an All-ACC pick in 1995 and 1997, and earned ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player<br />
and All-America honors from Basketball America in 1997. . . She was also a third-team selection<br />
by the Basketball Times and the AP. . . Despite playing just three seasons, she ranks 14th all-time<br />
in scoring at UNC with 1,716 career points. She ranks third in career scoring average (16.8), fi fth in<br />
fi eld goal percentage (53.0), third in steals (334) and eighth in assists (403).<br />
PERSONAL<br />
Jones starred on the basketball court at Thousand Oaks High School and led the team to a<br />
California State Basketball Championship in 1992 before being named the California Division I<br />
Player of the Year as a senior. . . Jones graduated from North Carolina in 1997 with a degree in<br />
Broadcast-Journalism. . . As a member of the USA Track Team, she won gold medals in the 100<br />
Meters and 4x100 Meter Relay in the 1997 World Championships. . . In 1998 she recorded personal<br />
bests of 10.65 in the 100 Meters and 21.62 in the 200 Meters - these marks still stand in the record books. . .After defending her 100 Meter title at the<br />
1999 World Championships, Jones went on to win fi ve (5) medals, three (3) Gold and two (2) Bronze at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. . .<br />
In 2007, she was stripped of those medals because of her admission to using performance-enhancing drugs. . . As a result of her confession, Jones was<br />
sentenced, and served 6-months in federal prison for lying to federal investigators. . . She voluntarily returned her fi ve (5) Olympic medals, and publicly<br />
apologized to her family, friends and fans all over the world.<br />

In three years with TCU and one with Texas El-Paso, Lacy fi nished with more than 1,300 points,<br />
750 rebounds, 600 assists and 300 steals. . . She was an 2008 AP Honorable-Mention All-American<br />
and played a large role in the Texas El-Paso’s record-setting 28-4 campaign in 2007-08. . . Lacy<br />
fi nished eighth in the country in steals per game, setting the single-season school record with 108<br />
total thefts in the process. . . The 2008 Conference USA New<strong>com</strong>er of the Year was second on the<br />
squad in assists (156) and scoring (13.0 ppg), and third in rebounding (5.9 rpg) and total blocks (20)<br />
. . . Lacy fi lled up the stat sheet like very few can, as the 2008 second-team all-league honoree<br />
was second in C-USA in steals, fi fth in assists, sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio, 10th in defensive<br />
rebounding, 12th in scoring and 17th in overall rebounding. . . Lacy transferred to Texas El-Paso<br />
following three seasons at TCU. . . She left TCU as one of the more decorated players in school<br />
history. . . Lacy ranked among the career leaders in scoring (11th, 945), rebounding (sixth, 579),<br />
assists (fi rst, 456) and steals (second, 223). . . She was the only player in TCU history with more<br />
than 700 points, 500 rebounds and 400 assists. . . Lacy scored in double fi gures 48 times with<br />
seven 20-plus point performances. . . TCU <strong>com</strong>piled a 67-29 (.698) overall record and a 32-12<br />
(.727) slate in conference games during her tenure. . . The Lady Frogs also appeared in three NCAA<br />
Tournaments and advanced to the second round twice. . . Lacy was a Second-team All-Mountain<br />
West selection as junior when she led the team in scoring (417, 14.4 ppg), rebounding (216,<br />
7.4 rpg), assists (112, 3.9 apg) and minutes per game (31.7 mpg). . . She was a Third-team<br />
All-Conference USA honoree as a sophomore and TCU’s Co-Off ensive Player of the Year with<br />
