iv) The Acting Chief Executive will ask all those in favour <strong>of</strong> Councillor J Davis to raise<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir h<strong>and</strong>s as follows:<br />
v) Then all those against to raise <strong>the</strong>ir h<strong>and</strong>s.<br />
vi) Then any abstentions.<br />
vii) On <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>the</strong> vote is carried, Mr C J Fairbrass, MBE will announce <strong>the</strong> newly<br />
appointed <strong>Deputy</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong> for <strong>the</strong> coming year <strong>and</strong> will invite <strong>the</strong> mover <strong>and</strong> seconder<br />
to say a few words in support.<br />
viii) Mr C J Fairbrass, MBE will invite <strong>the</strong> newly appointed <strong>Deputy</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong> to come to <strong>the</strong><br />
dais, read <strong>and</strong> sign <strong>the</strong> acceptance <strong>of</strong> his/her appointment. The Acting Chief<br />
Executive will also sign <strong>the</strong> book.<br />
ix) The newly appointed <strong>Deputy</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong> will invest <strong>the</strong> <strong>Deputy</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong>ess, Mrs P<br />
Cullender for <strong>the</strong> coming year.<br />
x) Flowers will be presented to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Deputy</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong>ess.<br />
xi) Photos will be taken.<br />
xii) The Acting Chief Executive will announce that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong>al party will be leaving <strong>the</strong><br />
chamber for about ten minutes whilst <strong>the</strong> newly appointed <strong>Mayor</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Deputy</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong><br />
put on <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>Mayor</strong>al robes <strong>and</strong> chains.<br />
xiii) The <strong>Mayor</strong>al procession will return in <strong>the</strong> following order:<br />
• Macebearer<br />
• Newly appointed <strong>Mayor</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong>ess/Consort<br />
• Newly appointed <strong>Deputy</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Deputy</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong>ess/Consort<br />
• Retiring <strong>Mayor</strong> (Mr C J Fairbrass, MBE) <strong>and</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong>ess<br />
• Retiring <strong>Deputy</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong> (Councillor E O Obasohan) <strong>and</strong> <strong>Deputy</strong> <strong>Mayor</strong>ess<br />
• Acting Chief Executive<br />
xiv) The newly appointed <strong>Mayor</strong> will address <strong>the</strong> Council.<br />
<strong>Appointment</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Religious</strong> <strong>Adviser</strong><br />
1. The newly elected <strong>Mayor</strong> will notify <strong>of</strong> his intention to appoint his <strong>Religious</strong> <strong>Adviser</strong><br />
for <strong>the</strong> ensuing municipal year.<br />
2. The <strong>Religious</strong> <strong>Adviser</strong> will read <strong>and</strong> sign <strong>the</strong> acceptance <strong>of</strong> his appointment.<br />
3. The newly elected <strong>Mayor</strong> will invest his <strong>Religious</strong> <strong>Adviser</strong> with <strong>the</strong> Kh<strong>and</strong>a <strong>Religious</strong><br />
Symbol.<br />
4. Photos will be taken.<br />
5. The <strong>Religious</strong> <strong>Adviser</strong> will respond.
