Gallup released its latest 

polling results on Monday, 

revealing findings that 

showed that since children 

26 years old and younger 

have been allowed by 

Obamacare to stay on 

their parents’ health insurance 

the number of young 

people without health in- 

surance had declined. 

Gallup found that levels of 

older persons remained 

about the same since the 

Affordable Health Care 

Act was enacted. 

At the same time, researchers 

at the University 

of Iowa reported on Monday 

that recently, when attempting 

to discern and to 

compare the price of a 

common hospital procedure 

– a hip replacement – 

only 16 percent of the nation’s 

hospitals could produce 

a complete price, 

including doctor’s fees and 

hospital costs. And only 

47 percent could come up 

with an amount after contacting 

health care 

providers. And the estimates 

received? From 

$11,000 to $125,798, depending 

on the hospital. 

The Federal Trade 

Commission reported on 

Monday that five percent 

of all U.S. consumers have 

credit report errors that 

potentially put pocket 

books at risk. The trade 

group for the nation’s 

credit reporting agencies, 

the Consumer Data Industry 

Association, challenging 

the agency’s 

interpretation, saying 

credit reports were “highly 

accurate.”

Harry Reid has failed to 

pass a federal budget,” 

Fleischmann said, “but we 

came up with ‘No Budget, 

No Pay,’ meaning that if 

there’s no budget, Congress 

doesn’t get paid. 

And that proposal has the 

approval of 93 percent of 

all Americans.” 

The Third District representative 

said he opposed,

continue to oppose, the 

“tax, borrow, and spend” 

mentality of the presidential 

administration, that he 

would fight President 

Obama “tooth and nail” to 

keep him from taking

“And during the time 

that I have been Speaker 

of the Senate since 2007, 

we passed two state budgets 

that were smaller each 

time than the year before,” 

he said. “We are one of 

the few states that are fully 

funded in our state employee 

pension fund.” 

Ramsey said he supported 

“doing away with 

the Death Tax,” or the inheritance 

tax, and was 

happy the legislature had 

done away with the “Gift 

Tax.” 

He said Tennessee was 

“setting a standard in education.” 

“Nothing makes a difference 

in a child’s education 

like quality teachers 

in the classroom,” Ramsey 

said. “But tenure for 

teachers is something 

teachers earn. It’s not just 

given. Therefore, we 

shouldn’t have collective 

bargaining by teachers, 

but we should have new 

ways of evaluating our 

teachers, and for the first 

time, we have started focusing 

on graduating students, 

not just enrolling 

them in school.” 

Ramsey ended his address 

with reaffirming the 

Republican Party’s commitment 

to “pro life” and 

to upholding the rights of 

gun ownership as guaranteed 

in the Second 

Amendment. 

“This fall we are placing 

on the ballot a resolution 

to protect the life of a 

fetus,” he said. “The unborn 

have rights.” 

Ramsey said that two 

years ago he “led the 

charge” to issue legal 

handgun permits, “and the

nor take the vehicle. 

Following his weekend

County Jail – his 14th intake 

- Taylor remained in 

custody on $10,000 bond.
