a l u m n i n e w s Chancellor for a day Craig Gerlach Spending the day with Chancellor Joe Gow was a great incentive for UW-L alums to join or renew their memberships in the UW-L Alumni Association. Craig Gerlach, ’85, was the lucky recipient for 2007-08. Gerlach, a high school superintendent, spent the day shadowing Gow. The two welcomed a Milwaukee High School group visiting campus, attended two communication studies classes, and were entertained and inspired that evening by the Awareness Through Performance group. Chancellor’s golf outing is Aug. 13 The 19th annual UW-L Chancellor’s Golf Outing will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Cedar Creek Country Club in Onalaska. Alumni, faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate. “Even though I’m not a golfer, I’ll be on hand to support the event and provide a little musical entertainment during the social hour,” says Chancellor Joe Gow. This event has a long tradition of keeping alumni, faculty, staff and friends connected while supporting various programs on campus. This year’s proceeds will support legacy scholarships, student programs such as the Etiquette Dinners and Move-In Day Ice Cream social, and alumni activities including Celebrate UW-L! Family, friends and Alumni weekend, the Alumnus magazine, reunions and more. Registration for the five-person scramble is $125 per person and includes lunch, 18 holes of golf with cart, registration gift, beverages on the course, special hole events, games, dinner and a raffle with great prizes. Pay it forward was a concept that took the country by storm. Osment played Trevor McKinney, a boy who performed good deeds to help others.
