Irrigation District on a personally conducted<br />

trip over <strong>the</strong> water and power system<br />

any Sunday during <strong>the</strong> fall and winter season.<br />

Each trip is under <strong>the</strong> guidance <strong>of</strong> a<br />

member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> District organization.<br />

• Cars leave Brawley diesel plant at 9:00 a. m.,<br />

Imperial city hall at 9:20, El Centro court<br />

house at 9:30 and Calexico post<strong>of</strong>fice at 10:00<br />

o'clock.<br />

• Tour includes <strong>the</strong> mammoth double-barreled<br />

syphon over New river near Calexico, Power<br />

Drop Nos. 1, 3 and 4 along <strong>the</strong> canal east <strong>of</strong><br />

Imperial Valley, <strong>the</strong> Coachella Valley turnout.<br />

Pilot Knob, and <strong>the</strong> Imperial dam and desilting<br />

works where <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficial trip ends at<br />

3:00 p. m.<br />

You may join <strong>the</strong> weekly caravan in your<br />

own car, or if arrangements are made in advance<br />

<strong>the</strong> District will furnish transportation.<br />

Visitors on this tour will have access to parts<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> water and power system which, due to<br />

<strong>the</strong> national emergency, are closed to strangers<br />

except with special permits.<br />

Imperial Valley's cooperatively owned project<br />

serves 60,000 people with domestic and<br />

irrigation water, and 11,000 customers with<br />

electrical energy. This is a field trip you will<br />

long remember—and <strong>the</strong> personnel <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Imperial Irrigation District will enjoy having<br />
