the Season
T
here are few better places to catch the
spirit of the season than right here at
the Four Seasons Centre during our annual
presentation of The Nutcracker. Everything
about this ballet inspires the imagination and
sets the tone for the festivities to come, from
Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score to Santo
Loquasto’s fairy-tale costumes and sets.
The Nutcracker is also unique in its ability
to bring families together year after year, as
a focal point for so many holiday traditions.
Every December, we have the privilege of
inviting audiences to assemble in celebration
of great dance and the beauty of the season.
Backstage, our own family of artists,
technicians and staff have come together to
ensure that The Nutcracker delivers on its
promise of magic. The energy in the theatre
is unique at this time of year, infused with
special depths of warmth, anticipation and
excitement.
The National Ballet of Canada family has
always included donors, and the holidays
are a perfect time to acknowledge their
importance to us as leaders and friends.
Our donors not only provide vital funding for
productions like The Nutcracker, but also

advocate for the cause of great dance in the
community. We are honoured to work alongside
these remarkable individuals each year,
and we take pride in their continued
generosity to our organization. We regard
our donors as family, and we are better for
their support.
This season, we are asking audiences to join
