March 13, 2012… Karen Kain, Artistic Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> <strong>N<strong>at</strong>ional</strong> <strong>Ballet</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Canada</strong>, today<br />

announced details <strong>of</strong> the 60th Anniversary <strong>Concert</strong> by <strong>The</strong> <strong>N<strong>at</strong>ional</strong> <strong>Ballet</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> <strong>Orchestra</strong><br />

<strong>at</strong> Koerner Hall on April 3, 2012. Part <strong>of</strong> the company’s 60th anniversary season, the concert<br />

marks the <strong>Orchestra</strong>’s debut <strong>at</strong> Koerner Hall. Led by Music Director and Principal Conductor<br />

David Briskin and hosted by renowned actor Colm Feore, the <strong>Orchestra</strong> will perform works<br />

from the company’s 60-year history with a visual present<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> archival images.<br />

<strong>The</strong> concert includes Alexander Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances, first performed in 1951 <strong>at</strong> the<br />

company’s inaugural performance, excerpts from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s iconic masterpiece<br />

Swan Lake and Joby Talbot’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.<br />
