THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, AND THANK YOU!!!!
As President of the NPAAA I can only express a sincere heart felt gradatitude for the opportunity
to work with the individuals who make up the NPAAA Board of Directors. These individuals
enthusiastically contribute their talents, time, resources, and dedication to the mission of the
NPAAA.
This evening’s historic event is a result of a classic team effort. The virtues I mentioned before,
regarding the inductees, most certainly apply to the NPAAA Board of Directors, key members,
NPAAA Corporate Partners and our NPAAA Wall of Honor Founding Sponsors. They all
deserve our appreciation for their efforts. However, I would like to highlight the following
individuals for their significant contributions that were remarkable by any standard.
Once again, I want to thank Al and Evelyn Brodhag for the exceptional effort they provided to
this project. They deserve special mention because of their contribution of time, skill, energy,
money and commitment to excellence. Al was not only responsible for the selection committee
for the 1920 to 1955 Era; he also was responsible for the selection of the teams. He helped with
locating members, locating the inductees and designing the award plaques. Evelyn helped create
the profiles for the Wall of Honor Plaques. In addition, both Al and Evelyn provided me with
guidance and suggestions on each and every aspect of this project.
Jim Heimer, our Vice President, has been a major contributor to this effort by acting a liaison
with school administration. Jim was also responsible for the 1971 to 2001 Era Selection
committee, and he contributed his time and energy with enthusiasm and dedication.
Bill Sinkinson, our Corresponding Secretary, is the webmaster of the KnightSite (ww.npaaa.org)
and has done a first class job. Bill also volunteered his time and energy to creating this event
program and the plaques tonight’s inductees will receive. He has brought to the organization a
great deal of energy, professionalism, creativity, and insight.
Rich Swanker, one of our Board Members, has been a great help with regard to writing the
history of the sprinters, locating and contacting the 1981 Track Team Members, and supervising
the installation of the Wall of Honor in conjunction with NPHS personnel.
Thanks also go out to the following members:
Dan Drissel and George Brommer, with Al Brodhag as a resource, for being responsible for the
1955 to 1971 Selection Committee.
Russ Stewart for his most professional job as NPAAA Treasurer.
