The disc is darker than in L. chlarotera s. str. and is pruinose.<br />

It also deviates fron the latter by apothecia not beconrning green-<br />

ish with addj-tion of water. The spore size (13-14 x 7i-9 !un) is,<br />

ho$rever, mole in accoldance with ssp. chlarotera (10-16(18) x<br />

4-8(9) trn) than $rith ssp. rneridionalis (8-12(14) x 4-7(8) un)<br />

According to Janes & white (198?) N. resupinatun is confined to<br />

alpine areas in southeln Europe, e. 9. in Northern cleece. Their<br />

own specimen citation from Greece is from the montane zone as is<br />

al,so the present specimen. It is the experience of the present<br />

author that N. resupinatum j.s ve<strong>ry</strong> co[unon in the montane folests of<br />

nolthern creece. In northern Pindos it has been coll-ected by the<br />

present autho! in Fagus wood.s in Gralrunos l"!ts., 1850 m, 23. VII.<br />

!971; Vlt. Augo, Lingos range, 1?50 rn. 1. VII. 19?8; Mt. Fringovimata,<br />

Lingos range, 1350 n, 7. VII. 1978; and Mt. Koleo, Lingos<br />
