Na-Cho Nyak Dun Government Building in Mayo, and
High Country Inn, Library Room in Whitehorse
FOR:
Three (3) Councillors,
ONE (1) Youth Councillor
The three Councillors and Youth Councillor shall be chosen by
way of general election and secret ballot conducted in accordance with the
Election Regulations. All Nacho Nyak Dun Citizens over the age of 18 years old
are eligible to vote.

Wednesday September 28, 2011
from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Nomination Day:
for Three (3) Councillors, and Youth Councillor positions
Closes in Mayo, Yukon Territory on
Monday September 12 2011 at 4:30 p.m.
NOMINATIONS:
A person shall be nominated upon the filing of valid notice of that
person’s nomination with the Election Committee. A notice of nomination
may be filed at any time after the announcement of the election call by
the Election Committee until 4.30 p.m. on September 12, 2011 close of
nominations.
To be nominated for the office of Councillor:
a citizen who is over the age of 18 years of age;
in writing, in a form acceptable to the Election Committee;
specify the person is being nominated for Councillor; and
signed and delivered in the original, to the Election Committee’s
satisfaction, by not less than 7 electors who are members of the
same Clan as the person being nominated.

To be nominated for the office of the Youth Councillor:
is at least 18 years of age, who will be no older than 26 years of
age;
in writing, in a form acceptable to the Election Committee;
specify that the person is being nominated for the office of Youth
Councillor; and
signed and delivered in original, to the Election Committee’s
satisfaction, by not less than 7 electors who are at least 18 years
of age and no older than 26 years of age.
For the Councillors, and Youth Councillor positions all citizens must be:
an elector;
duly nominated; and
personally affirms in writing received by the Election Committee by
mail or in person by any member of the Election Committee, no
later than 4.30 p.m. on the third day after the day nominations
closed, that he or she is willing to accept that nomination;
The candidate shall then be certified by the Election Committee as a candidate
for election to the office for which he or she was nominated. A person who is
nominated but who is not certified by the Election Committee under this
provision shall not be entitled to become a candidate for election.
MAIL IN BALLOTS
A reminder to all citizens, the mail in ballots will not be
mailed to all citizens. If you would like to cast your vote by
mail in ballot, please send your request to Karen Van Bibber,
Election Committee Member, or the Chief Electoral Officer
and a mail in ballot will be sent to you as soon as possible.
