§6.5. Transliteration of Cardinal Numbers<br />

§6.5.1. As shown in §5, cardinal numbers are noted in<br />

cuneiform texts using a variant of system S, i.e., a sexagesimal<br />

additive numeration system (as stated above,<br />

the only difference is the orientation of the units sign,<br />

which is vertical instead of horizontal). The transliteration<br />

of these numbers therefore need not be different<br />

from the one used for system S. For example, in line<br />

77 of the SKL, cited above, the transliteration of the<br />

notation
