Meeting Summary<br />

1) A significant amount of discussi<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> Management Informati<strong>on</strong> Systems <strong>Curriculum</strong><br />

document presented by Gedas Adomavicius, IDSc. For example, the changes in the MIS<br />

<strong>Curriculum</strong>. The document is posted <strong>on</strong> the web.<br />

Changes in MIS curriculum (as of Fall 2008)<br />

Starting in Fall 2008 semester, there will be the following major changes in MIS curriculum:<br />

• IDSC 3201 – Introducti<strong>on</strong> to Programming for Systems Development (4 credits) will be split into the<br />

following two courses:<br />

o IDSC 3101 – Introducti<strong>on</strong> to Programming (2 cr.)<br />

o IDSC 3102 – Intermediate Programming (2 cr.)<br />

• IDSC 4203 – Informati<strong>on</strong> Technology Infrastructure (4 cr.) will be split into the following two courses:<br />

o IDSC 3103 – Introducti<strong>on</strong> to Databases (2 cr.)<br />

o IDSC 3104 – Business Communicati<strong>on</strong> Technologies (2 cr.)<br />

• IDSC 4204 – Informati<strong>on</strong> Services Management (4 cr.) will be a writing-intensive course (IDSC 4204W).<br />

• A new required 2-credit course – the MIS capst<strong>on</strong>e course – will be added to the MIS curriculum<br />

(tentative<br />

course number: IDSC 4301).
