• Incorporation of Hin Loon<br />
Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd (now<br />
known as <strong>Kencana</strong> HL Sdn Bhd),<br />
a resident contractor for major<br />
fabrication yards in Malaysia.<br />
1995<br />
• Incorporation of Best Wide<br />
Matrix Sdn Bhd (now known as<br />
<strong>Kencana</strong> Bestwide Sdn Bhd), an<br />
EPCC, Design, Engineering and<br />
Project Management company.<br />
2000<br />
• Establishment of the<br />
Lumut Fabrication Yard,<br />
covering an area of<br />
approximately 11 acres<br />
with a 5,000 metric tonnes (mt)<br />
load-out jetty.<br />
2002<br />
• Awarded a major fabrication<br />
(Offshore Structures) license<br />
by PETRONAS. <strong>Kencana</strong><br />
<strong>Petroleum</strong> is one of only seven<br />
licensees in Malaysia.<br />
• Awarded the Group’s first<br />

9001:2000 accreditation from<br />

2004<br />
• <strong>Kencana</strong> Bestwide received<br />
ISO 9001:2000 accreditation,<br />
awarded by Moody International<br />
Certification (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.<br />
• Completed a project<br />
involving wellhead platforms,<br />
gas compression modules<br />
and carbon dioxide (CO²)<br />

• Expansion and upgrading of<br />
the Lumut Fabrication Yard to<br />
an area of approximately 53<br />
acres, with new 12,000 mt load<br />
out jetty, covered workshops,<br />
covered fabrication areas and<br />
other facilities.<br />
• Launched the <strong>Kencana</strong><br />
<strong>Petroleum</strong> brand.<br />
• Secured our first overseas<br />
major contract to fabricate,<br />
precommissioning and load-out<br />
of an offshore production<br />
platform for installation<br />
offshore Australia.<br />
• Undertook the conversion/<br />
refurbishment of the first Mobile<br />
Offshore Production Unit (MOPU)<br />
in Malaysia.<br />
2006<br />
• Secured the Group’s first<br />
engineering, procurement,<br />
construction, installation<br />
and commissioning (EPCIC)<br />
contract for the Bumi, Bulan and<br />
Suriya gas field developments<br />
in the Malaysia-Thailand Joint<br />
Development Area.<br />
• Secured the Group’s first<br />
major “brownfield” project<br />
for extensive modification<br />
of offshore platforms.<br />
• Became an integrated services<br />
and solutions provider.<br />
• Listed on the Main Market<br />
of Bursa Malaysia Securities<br />

2007<br />
• Bagged a project to vertically<br />
build a self-elevating and<br />
re-locatable wellhead platform.<br />
This project is the first of its<br />
kind to be built in Malaysia<br />
and the second worldwide.<br />
• Expansion and upgrading of the<br />
Lumut Fabrication Yard to<br />
approximately 123.7 acres,<br />
with an annual capacity of<br />
40,000 mt, plus seven covered<br />
workshops that allow 24-hour<br />
fabrication activities in all<br />
weather conditions.<br />
2008<br />
• <strong>Kencana</strong> <strong>Petroleum</strong> completed<br />
the world’s tallest self-elevating,<br />
re-locatable wellhead platform<br />
(150m) project.<br />

signaling the Group’s intention<br />

oil and gas services.<br />
• Enhanced the Group’s<br />
specialised steel fabrication and<br />
infrastructure capabilities and<br />
gained a higher yard capacity<br />
(48,000 mt annually) via the<br />
acquisition of <strong>Kencana</strong> Torsco<br />
Sdn Bhd (formerly known as<br />
Torsco Sdn Bhd).<br />
• Moved into the marine<br />
engineering business, by<br />
building the Group’s first<br />
tender assisted drilling rig.<br />
• Secured a contract to build<br />
19 topside modules for floating<br />
drilling production storage and<br />
offloading (FDPSO).
