Corporate Profile<br />
Hospitality Division<br />
The Hospitality division manages a collection of hotels and<br />
resorts encompassing three brand names - Sunway Hotels &<br />
Resorts, Allson Hotels & Resorts and The Banjaran Hotsprings<br />
Retreat; representing over 3,400 guestrooms. Its international<br />
portfolio of hospitality products and services ranges from a<br />
luxury collection and spa retreat, 5-star hotels with world-class<br />
convention, meeting and exhibition facilities, luxurious villas,<br />
serviced townhouses and suites, 4 and 3-star hotels, to technical<br />
services, travel services, franchise management as well as hotel<br />
marketing affiliation services.<br />
Leisure Division<br />
SunCity’s Leisure division owns and manages two awardwinning<br />
attractions, namely the Sunway Lagoon and Lost<br />
World of Tambun, Ipoh as well as time-shared businesses like<br />
Sunway International Vacation Club. Sunway Lagoon is an iconic<br />
multi-park attraction in Malaysia. Winning Asia’s Best Attraction<br />
Award for four consecutive years (2007 to 2010) awarded by<br />
the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions<br />
(IAAPA); it is to date the only attraction in the world to have<br />
achieved that.<br />
In 2010, Sunway Lagoon has also been recognised by the Golden<br />
Pony Award, an award established in 2002 by Games & Parks<br />
Industry magazine to give tangible recognition to excellence<br />
in the leisure sector internationally. Lost World of Tambun is<br />
a comprehensive theme park that is situated at the edge of<br />
limestone hills and enclaves. It has won the National Tourism<br />
Award – Innovative Tourist Attraction - Natural Attraction/Eco<br />
Tourism 2008/2009.<br />
Healthcare Division<br />
Sunway Medical Centre (“SunMed”) adds to the Group’s position<br />
as a provider of quality healthcare services under the Healthcare<br />
division. SunMed has been ISO 9001: 2008 certified since 2003<br />
and in compliance with MS ISO 15189 and Malaysian Society for<br />
Quality in Health (MSQH) accredited private hospital. SunMed is<br />
one of the foremost private medical care centres in the nation<br />
with a total of 350 beds, more than 100 consultation suites, 12<br />
operation theatres and a multi-storey car park with 700 parking<br />
bays. SunMed offers a comprehensive range of acute, tertiary<br />
level medical services.<br />
Strong Long-Term Strategic Partner<br />
Based on SunCity’s established track record and expertise<br />
in both property development and property investment, the<br />
Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (“GIC”) Real<br />
Estate Pte Lte (the real estate arm of the GIC) has invested a<br />
21% stake in the Group.<br />
Apart from GIC, SunCity has also attracted various strategic<br />
local and foreign partners including Kuwait Finance House,<br />
the Employees Provident Fund, Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco<br />
City (a joint venture between the Chinese Consortium led by<br />
Tianjin TEDA Investment Holding Co., Ltd (Tianjin TEDA) and<br />
the Singapore Consortium led by the Keppel Group), Australand<br />
(Capitaland’s subsidiary),Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor<br />
(Selangor State Government), Kinta Valley Resort (Perak State<br />
Government) and other prestigious partners.<br />
A Recognised and Well-Known Brand<br />
The strength of the Sunway brand has been widely recognised by<br />
both local and overseas associations. For two consecutive years<br />
in 2008 and 2009, Sunway won the Malaysia’s Most Valuable<br />
Brand Award by Interbrand and the Association of Accredited<br />
Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) and the Brand Laureate<br />
Conglomerate Award by Asia Pacific Brands Foundation. Winning<br />
both the awards for two consecutive years affirms Sunway’s<br />
success in becoming a brand with high equity.<br />
SunCity’s excellent brand performance is further reaffirmed as<br />
it won the Silver Award in the property category awarded at the<br />
inaugural Putra Brand Awards 2010 and Bronze Award in in the<br />
property category awarded at the inaugural Putra Brand Awards<br />
2011. The Putra Brand Awards are the only brand awards in<br />
the country endorsed by Malaysia External Trade Development<br />
Corporation (MATRADE) and supported by the Branding<br />
Association of Malaysia (BAM), the Malaysian Advertisers<br />
Association (MAA), and the Media Specialists Association (MSA).<br />
SunCity is also recognized as one of the top property developers<br />
in Malaysia. For the eighth consecutive year, the Group was<br />
awarded The Edge’s Top Property Developers Award. This is a<br />
prestigious honour as this award is a benchmarking tool that<br />
ranks the country’s best property players in terms of financial<br />
performance, quality, innovation, creativity and value creation<br />
for buyers.
