<strong>Watersheds</strong> face resource impacts driven by accelerated change related to land use, populati<strong>on</strong>,<br />

and climate. About every three years a c<strong>on</strong>ference is held to br<strong>in</strong>g toge<strong>the</strong>r watershed<br />

researchers, observers, and managers to share scientific advances and management strategies.<br />

For <strong>the</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Fourth</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Interagency</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>C<strong>on</strong>ference</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>on</strong> <strong>Research</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Watersheds</strong>, we will view watershed<br />

science with a c<strong>on</strong>t<strong>in</strong>ental perspective <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g press<strong>in</strong>g issues of watershed science and<br />

management <strong>in</strong> our largest and perhaps most vulnerable state, Alaska. The purpose of <strong>the</strong><br />

c<strong>on</strong>ference is to better understand <strong>the</strong> processes driv<strong>in</strong>g change and help managers <strong>in</strong>corporate<br />

societal needs and scientific uncerta<strong>in</strong>ty <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> management of natural resources. Please jo<strong>in</strong> us <strong>in</strong><br />
